One of Mobile Syrup's tipsters have just mentioned that the LG Optimus Black will be hitting Telus in the near future - this time in white! The smartphone will ship with Android 2.2 initially and will cost the same as the current (black) model. So, that means it'll be available for free on a 3-year contract.

Although it's not official yet, it looks like Sprint will be getting the LG Marquee sometime in the future. The smartphone is officially unknown right now but Android Central has mentioned that this very well could be the LG Optimus Black. It looks like that's pretty likely right now so we'll just have to wait for the official word from the carrier.

Looks like Telus has released their latest smartphone, the LG Optimus Black Skype Edition. The smartphone is available in Canada right now for $49.99 on a 3-year contract and $399.99 contract-free. The handset packs a 4-inch NOVA display, WiFi support, a 5MP camera, a front-facing 2MP camera for those Skype video calls, and Android 2.2. Check it out at Telus, Best Buy, and Future Shop.

Future Shop Canada has just put up two great smartphones up for pre-order. They're the Bell HTC Sensation 4G (with HSPA+) and Telus' LG Optimus Black. It's unknown when both phones will launch but they should be available in early July. Check them out here and here if you've been waiting for one of these, but keep in mind that you're going to have to walk into the store and put a $50 deposit down if you actually want to pre-order them.

It looks like we now know the first carrier in the UK that will be releasing the LG Optimus Black. It's T-Mobile UK and you can now head over to their website and sign-up for more information if you'd like. This handset is one of the best that have been announced to date and it's sporting a 4-inch NOVA display along with Android 2.2 (upgradeable to 2.3 "Gingerbread"). Amazon Germany has just put up two new Android-based smartphones from LG on their online website. Like the title says, it's the LG Optimus 2X (above) and the Optimus Black (below) - they're here and here, respectively. They're not available to purchase right now but they're both priced at €499 ($680 USD). Both of these smartphones are pretty great. They're both sporting 4-inch WVGA displays, a microSD card slot, WiFi b/g/n / Bluetooth support, and Android 2.2. The Optimus 2X sports a dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 chipset along with 1080p HD video recording capabilities, while the Optimus Black is the world's thinnest smartphone at 9.2mm and also features a 2MP front-facing camera and WiFi Direct capabilities which is quite a new technology. Pretty impressive from LG which is something they're going to have to do after announcing their poor Q4 results.

LG is holding their press conference at CES right now and the first thing they announced is their Optimus Black smartphone. This one is the "world's slimmest phone" at 9.2mm all the way across (not like the XPERIA Arc which has a curved body so it's kind of unfair). This handset sports a new (4-inch) NOVA display which is "designed to be the brightest, clearest and most readable among mobile screens with 700 nits of brightness for optimal visibility." LG is also claiming that it's the world's first smartphone to use a 2MP front-facing camera so that's pretty impressive as well. No official spec sheet was announced but we do know that there's WiFi Direct and a 1,500mAh battery. That being said, it's only running Android 2.2 and should be globally available in the first half of this year.

Engadget has just picked up some information that LG will be unveiling at least two new Android-based smartphones at CES over the next few days. The first one is above and it's the LG Revolution. Clearly, it'll have 4G capabilities and it's believed to be LTE because it'll be running on Verizon's network. The other smartphone that LG has up their sleeves is the Optimus Black (below). Apparently, this one is what we've been hearing as the LG "B" which leaked a few weeks ago. Expect to find a crystal clear display on this one and it's reportedly just 9.2mm thin. It's also rumoured to have WiFi Direct certification along with the "world's first" 2MP front-facing camera. Look out for them both extremely soon!
