HP Updates Pavilion dv4, Mini 210, and Envy 14 Notebooks

Labels: , , , ,

HP has unveiled a bunch of new notebooks today and this post is regarding the Pavilion dv4, the redesigned Mini 210, and the Envy 14. First up is the Pavilion dv4 which is pictured above. This one will be available on May 18th starting at $599 if you're interested. This will get you the base model which features a 14-inch HD display, Sandy Bridge CPUs, a bunch of DDR3 RAM options, up to a 1TB HDD, Dolby Home Theater audio, an optional Blu-ray player, and the company's CoolSense tech.

Next up is the Mini 210 which is just a 10.1-inch netbook. Sadly, the specs aren't upgraded so you're stuck with the same old ones except this time it has Beats Audio which you may or may not care for. Thankfully, the standard battery is now a 6-cell (improvement over the 4-cell) and will last 8.8 hours. This will be available on June 15th for $299 and $30 more will get you a cooler colour.

Last, but not least, HP has upgraded their Envy 14 notebook which tries its best to be a MacBook Pro. This 14-inch notebook now features Intel "Sandy Bridge" CPUs, an improved multitouch trackpad, and USB 3.0 ports. This will be available for June 15th and will start at $999.

HP has kept the party going by announcing the Envy 17 3D, the Envy 14 Beats Edition, and the Pavilion dm3. The new Envy 17 3D notebook will sport a 17.3-inch 3D display, support for 3D Blu-rays, and it's using AMD's 3D technology. This notebook will be available for less than $2,000 when it hits the market late this year (probably holiday season). Next up is the Envy 14 Beats Edition notebook which will cost you $1,249 when it hits the market. Specs are unknown right now, but it's quite a hefty sum but it's a small fee to pay if you love Dr. Dre.

Last, but not least, there's the Pavilion dm3 notebook. This notebook will sport a 13.3-inch display, Intel Core i3 / i5 CPU options, and HP's CoolSense technology to keep everything cool (interior and exterior). This notebook will be available later this year for $549.

HP Announces the Envy 14 and Envy 17, Complete With i5 / i7 CPU Options

Labels: , , ,

HP has kicked off this morning by officially announcing their Envy 14 and Envy 17 notebooks - of course, they still look like MacBook Pro clones. Thankfully, HP has decided to put in optical drives in both notebooks. Engadget points out that the trackpad has improved since the last Envy notebooks. The Envy 17 notebook has an ATI Radeon HD 5000 GPU which supports Eyefinity which can support a bunch of external displays - this is a first in the entire industry. Other specs include Core i5 / i7 CPU options, up to 2TB of HDD storage, USB 3.0 ports, and Windows 7. This one will be priced at $1,399 and it should be available starting on May 19th.

The Envy 14 has an awkward but unique 14.5-inch display and it's apparently 75% brighter than other 14-inch displays out there. It has Core i5 / i7 CPU options, discrete ATI graphics, and the base model will be priced at $999. This will be available starting on June 27th so it's a longer wait than the Envy 17.

Sadly, these notebooks are both missing Nvidia's Optimus technology, which for me is a huge let down.

HP Envy 14, Envy 17, and Pavilion dm4 Notebooks Confirmed? Launching Soon?

Labels: , , , ,

Way back in December there was a leak that stated that HP was prepping an Envy 14 and an Envy 17 and now we're seeing some more documents that confirm that HP is indeed working on these two new models. Unfortunately, the document never mentioned any specs or a release date, but it'll likely launch with Core i5 / i7 options. That's not all though, they're also reportedly working on a Pavilion dm4. This notebook will reportedly be packing a 14-inch display, an optical drive, Intel / AMD CPU options, switchable graphics, and a price somewhere in the range of $650 to $850.

5 HP Notebooks Slip Out; Envy 14 and 17 On the Way

Labels: , , ,

A couple of days before CES 2010, it looks like new HP notebooks have just been spotted. More notably, it's the HP Envy 14 and 17. Surprisingly enough, both of these models may not have integrated optical drives for some reason, since HP Korean's website lists the HP external USB DVD Drive as a specification.

The other set of notebooks that have been leaked out is the successor to the Elitebook 2730p tablet notebook, the 2530p tablet notebook, and the 17-inch 8730w notebook. They're on their way.

HP Planning On Launching an Envy 14 Notebook, With Core i5?

Labels: , , , ,

It looks like the HP Envy 13 and Envy 15 may actually have a brother that they didn't know about until now. There's a new rumour going around that HP is brewing up an Envy 14. Slash Gear suggests that this could be rocking an Intel Core i5 CPU, since the smaller Envy 13 has an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU and the larger Envy 15 has a Core i7 CPU.

I wonder if they're going to release a 17-inch model as well, Envy 17 anyone?
