HTC Leo Pictured Again, Called the HTC HD2

Labels: , , , , ,

According to the latest unconfirmed news, the HTC Leo could be launching as the HTC HD2, which could make it the true successor to the almighty HTC Touch HD. This could potentially be crushing my dreams of the HTC Touch HD2 running Android. The picture above also shows us that the large 4.3-inch multi-touchscreen capacitive display will be attracting your oily fingerprints.

HTC Leo To Have Digital Compass On-Board

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Yesterday morning, Ai.rs got the scoop on new pictures and a new video preview of the HTC Leo. Now they are saying that the HTC Leo will have a built-in digital compass, which is a great addition. This phone is definitely the WinMo handset to get - if you're into WinMo at least a little bit.

HTC Leo Confirmed To Have 4.3-Inch Multi-Touch Capacitive Display, Makes Touch Diamond 2 Look Small

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

There's not much left to say here, but the HTC Leo really does make the HTC Touch Diamond 2 look puny to say the least. The Leo has a simplistic design on the front since the 4.3-inch multi-touchscreen capacitive WVGA display takes up almost all of the room on the front - it's almost borderless. Anyways, check out the Ai.rs blog here, because they have the phone in their possession right now. Looks like WinMo 6.5 will really have multitouch support built-in which is amazing.

Update: Make sure to scroll down just a bit more because there's now a video preview of the HTC Leo - thanks to Ai.rs blog and WMPowerUser.

HTC Leo To Run WinMo 6.5 With Multi-Touchscreen Display?

Labels: , , ,

According to this video below, the HTC Leo / Firestone will have a multi-touchscreen display. Now, this is obviously unconfirmed since I'm pretty sure we were unaware that Windows Mobile 6.5 will have multi-touchscreen capabilities, but hey, it'll be great if it does. Take a look at the ever-so-exciting video below.

HTC Whitestone Launching On Verizon In Q4; HTC Leo Launching On Telstra Australia

Labels: , , , , , , ,

We know that the HTC Whitestone (right side) is coming to Verizon and it will reportedly hit the US carrier in Q4 (September / October) of this year. The Whitestone is similar to the HTC Touch Diamond 2, but it does have some different features. The Whitestone will have: a 3.6-inch WVGA touchscreen display, a 5MP AF camera, aGPS support, 512MB of ROM, 256MB of RAM, a 528MHz Qualcomm CPU, and WinMo 6.1 on-board - possibly WinMo 6.5 when it gets released though.

Telstra Australia will be launching the HTC Leo / Firestone. We don't know the price or when it will launch, so just wait for it.

HTC Leo / Firestone Pictured in the Wild Beside a Touch Pro 2 -- HTC Pro Three On Back

Labels: , , ,

There's not much to say here, you have the HTC Leo / Firestone on the left side and the Touch Pro 2 on the right side. The HTC Leo has: a 4.3-inch touchscreen display with a 480 x 800 resolution, a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, a 5MP camera with an LED flash, 320MB of RAM, 512MB of ROM, a microSD card slot, and it's clearly running Windows Mobile 6.5.

Update: GSM Arena scooped up a bit more photos of the HTC Leo / Firestone. Just like we heard back saw in mid-August this real unit has "HTC Pro Three" on the back. Keep in mind that this could be just a codename. The 5MP camera is also unconfirmed at the time.

HTC Leo / Firestone User Agent Profile Leaked

Labels: , , ,

Apparently, the HTC Leo / Firestone seems to be somewhat confirmed after Cell Passion located the Leo's user agent profile. The profile says that the Leo will have a 480 x 800 resolution touchscreen, two soft keys, Windows Mobile, and Internet Explorer Mobile 6. We'll just have to wait for more detail.

Even Newer Renders of the Mammoth-Sized But Sexy HTC Leo / Firestone

Labels: , , ,

Above and below are even newer renders of the HTC Leo / Firestone. There's nothing much to say here, it just looks damn sexy. Three days ago, we got a similar picture, but this time we have a picture of what the back of this mammoth handset could look like. Having a 4.3-inch touchscreen display, it'll take the 4.1-inch Toshiba TG01 off the top of the throne for the largest display on a mobile phone - I rhymed there. But, this handset will be a little bit thicker at 11mm - the TG01 is just 9.9mm thin. According to the rumours, this handset will be available in October. If so, I could be getting this since my mom could be headed to the Philippines later this year.

HTC Touch Pro 2 aka Rhodium is a "Compatible Phone" on Sprint; HTC Looking to Hit the Low-End Smartphone Market Too

Labels: , , , , ,

At least now it's confirmed. The HTC Touch Pro 2 codenamed Rhodium will be headed to Sprint. We don't know when, but we've heard murmurs that it will be on September 3. This picture above on Sprint tells us that the HTC Rhodium is a "compatible phone". Excited?

According to DigiTimes, HTC could partner up with MediaTek to attract some consumers in the lower-end of the market. HTC is going to do this to try to keep some of their costs down. We don't know what this means for the consumers, but I'm just looking to get some more dirt on the HTC Leo / Firestone.

Rendered Image of the HTC Firestone / HTC Leo

Labels: , , , , , , ,

This photo is a rendered image of the upcoming HTC Leo aka Firestone. It looks similar to the photo of the Firestone that was pushed out in late June. I don't know what's with the speaker on the front and this handset also doesn't look 11mm thin, which is what we found out two days ago. You can check out the spec sheet here if you'd like. The Firestone / Leo is also expected to have a 1,230 mAh battery and aGPS support.

HTC Leo Equipped With WinMo 6.5, a 4.3-Inch Display and a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU

Labels: , , , , , , , , , ,

Two days ago, I briefly talked about four HTC upcoming smartphones. Well today it looks like we got the scoop and specs on the HTC Leo. The picture above says it all, the HTC Leo has: a gigantic 4.3-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display, a Qualcomm MSM8250 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, quad-band GSM/EDGE / dual-band 900/2100MHz HSDPA, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, aGPS, a 5MP AF camera with a dual-LED flash, 320MB of RAM, a 3.5mm headphone jack, 512MB of internal memory, and a microSD card slot. This handset is only codenamed "Leo" so keep that in mind. It's also running WinMo 6.5, so it looks like it'll get a release later this year.

Our first reports about the HTC Leo mentioned that it would have two displays, but it doesn't look like it'll have 2 displays anymore. Either that or it hasn't been outlined yet. But, this looks like a full-spec sheet to me.

Update on July 22nd: According to Gizmodo, the HTC Leo could actually be the HTC Firestone. I've actually been hearing a ton of rumours about it, so I figured that I might as well post about it. The specs remain accurate.

HTC Readying Four Smartphones? The Leo, Click, Mega and Rome

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

Following up on the HTC Dawn from this morning, it looks like HTC could be preparing more smartphones for the future. The HTC Leo, Click, Mega, and Rome smartphones are probably all just codenames because they would sound pretty dumb as actual smartphone names. Anyways, the HTC Leo looks like it could be a smartphone with two displays, a WVGA (480 x 800 resolution) internal and a QVGA external. The Leo is expected to support OpenGL 2.0 and could have a Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU - similar to the Toshiba TG01. Unwired View points out that this smartphone could be similar to the HTC Omni (mock-up picture above) which was scheduled to be released a few years ago.

The HTC Click is another smartphone that could be actually be classified as an "entry-level" Android-based handset. Unfortunately, there are absolutely no details on the HTC Mega or the HTC Rome. Hopefully, we'll know more details about all four of these handsets / smartphones in the near future.

HTC Firestone Picture and Specs Leak

Labels: , , , , ,

Another image of the HTC Firestone has just found its way on the web yet again. It's not surprisingly part of the HTC leaked roadmap that we saw a while ago. The supposed specs were also leaked out with these new images. The HTC Firestone will have: a 3.6-inch WVGA transflective touchscreen display (65k colours), a Qualcomm 8250 600MHz CPU, quad-band GSM, HSDPA connectivity, 256MB of RAM, 512MB of ROM, a microSD slot, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, a 3.5mm headphone jack, aGPS, WiFi b/g, an 8MP camera, and a gyro sensor. This handset will run on Windows Mobile 6.5 according to the picture. Oh yes, I also have no clue what a transflective touchscreen display is, but that could mean that it has sunlight legibility. And seeing how all of HTC's touchscreen phones - except for the Android-based ones - are resistive, I'm betting this one is as well. The Firestone is expected to hit shelves this August- I believe.

Update: If you don't know what a "transflective" display is, here's the Wiki.
