Best Buy Now Has the Verizon DROID Incredible In Stock

Labels: , , , , , , ,

According to someone from Best Buy, they now have the Verizon HTC Droid Incredible in stock. This doesn't have the AMOLED display but it does sport a 3.7-inch SLCD (Super LCD) display along with Android 2.2 pre-installed. The SLCD display is pretty good but the AMOLED is a bit better in terms of usability. It's not a big deal, to be honest, but at least you can pick one up now! Act fast.

Europe-Bound HTC Ace To Be the GSM DROID Incredible Or the 3G-Only EVO?

Labels: , , , , , ,

Okay, so yesterday morning we heard about the HTC Ace which will be hitting Europe in the future, but exactly what is it? No one knows for sure right now, but it'll be running on the Android OS. Pocket-Lint is leaning towards the HTC Ace being a GSM Droid Incredible (pictured above), while everyone else including Electronista is saying that it's a GSM version of the EVO 4G (without the 4G capabilities). This 3G-only smartphone will be hitting T-Mobile and apparently features specs similar to the HD2 with Android (the EVO 4G). I won't make any guesses so let's just wait for the official word.

Verizon To Phase Out the DROID Incredible Soon? -- Probably Not.

Labels: , , , , ,

Someone has just spotted this [somewhat] bad news. The DROID Incredible has just made the phase-out list at Verizon which could make some people sad. The Incredible was a great device, but it's been plagued by shortages and it took a while for it to get rooted. On to other things though because the DROID X and the DROID 2 are on the way so you'll be able to cheer up in the near future. The DROID X is slightly larger than the DROID Incredible but it'll likely sport a 1GHz OMAP CPU which is slightly faster than the 1GHz Snapdragon CPU.

Update: According to a random tipster (commenter below), the Droid Incredible actually won't be phased out and is expected to stay on Verizon until Q2 2011. They also mentioned that the smartphone will be getting an update to version 2.2 "Froyo" on July 9th.

Verizon is going to be receiving their shipments late next month, June 22nd to be exact. With Motorola launching two Android-based smartphones in July, they're definitely worth waiting for.

Vodafone Getting the Nexus One On April 30th; Verizon Not Getting It Anymore, Get the DROID Incredible Instead

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Vodafone UK has just announced that they'll be releasing the Google Nexus One on April 30th, which is this Friday. This is great news especially considering that the DROID Incredible won't be hitting the UK. Of course, it'll be available for free on select contracts.

Google has just updated their site to tell you that there's no point in getting the Nexus One since the DROID Incredible will be launched in the near future - April 29th. The DROID Incredible is exactly like the Nexus One except for the difference design, of course, and the improved 8MP camera. There's really nothing to cry about here. Google has already confirmed that they are not launching the Nexus One on Verizon.

HTC DROID Incredible Won't Be Hitting the UK

Labels: , , , ,

It looks like the amazing DROID Incredible won't be hitting folks in the UK. They already have the HTC Desire, so it's not like they're missing out on that much. The Incredible does have an 8MP camera which is better than the Desire's 5MP snapper, but I'm sure they'll be getting something just as powerful before the end of the year - and it'll be free on contract.

Verizon Now Taking Pre-Orders For the DROID Incredible

Labels: , , , , , ,

You can now pre-order the DROID Incredible on Verizon if you want - which you should! Of course, it's $199.99 on 2-year contract. A bunch of big tech websites out there have their reviews for this handset already and they all say it's pretty amazing. Anyways, you can pre-order it on Verizon's website here.

Verizon and HTC Make the DROID Incredible Official; Pre-Orders On April 19, Hitting Shelves April 29

Labels: , , , , ,

We already know the DROID Incredible's full specification sheet, so I don't really need to go over them. Verizon and HTC has officially announced that the pre-orders for the DROID Incredible will start on April 19th and it'll be available starting on April 29th for $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate. It's going to cost $599.99 contract-free.

Labels: , , , , , ,

The HTC Incredible has just shown up officially on Verizon's website - finally - and it clearly shows that they'll be launching on April 29th as the Droid Incredible. This is probably why they're dropping the Droid Eris by the end of May.

Update: The page on Verizon has been pulled, but it should surface again.

Labels: , , , ,

Well, it looks like Costco in the US could be planning to launch the T-Mobile HTC Incredible for $199.99 on contract, which is obviously predictable. There's really not much left to tell you, but it's rumoured to hit the carrier before the end of this month, especially considering what you see below.

According to this image above, Verizon employees could be just about ready to start their training for the HTC Incredible. This clearly hints at a launch in the near future - it should be mere weeks away.

HTC Incredible Accessory Prices Get Leaked Out

Labels: , , ,

Although the Verizon price for the HTC Incredible hasn't been leaked out, the accessory prices have been. This includes the battery cover, the extended (2,150mAh) battery, the rubber case, and the display protectors (3-pack). They'll be retailing for $14.99, $59.99, $29.99, and $12.99, respectively. The battery looks like it's only available in red right now, so let's hope that there'll be a black one in the future.

Verizon To Announce Microsoft Pink On April 12th, SanDisk Confirms It

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

Okay, well, Verizon is announcing something on Monday, April 12th. Engadget believes that it's the Microsoft Pink (Pure and Turtle), while Phandroid believes it's the HTC Incredible. It's only 3 days away, so be sure to tune in on Monday to see what's up.

Update: According to Slash Gear, SanDisk has actually confirmed that Pink will be announced on Monday. Both of the handsets will feature microSD card slots (especially SanDisk ones), which is a big positive - seeing how WinPho 7 won't have support for that.

HTC Incredible Launching On April 29th, Manual Leaks Out and Confirms What We Know

Labels: , , , , ,

So much for my guess. According to what you see above, the HTC Incredible will be launching on April 29th and the manual was actually leaked, which is extremely great news. The manual confirmed some of the specs that we already know. The handset will feature a 3.7-inch AMOLED multitouch display with a 480 x 800 resolution, an 8MP AF camera with a dual-LED flash, 3G / CDMA connectivity, WiFi / Bluetooth / GPS support, a 3.5mm headphone jack, an FM radio, a microSD card slot, and the Sense UI over top of Android 2.1. The price wasn't mentioned, but it'll be surprising if it doesn't launch for $199.99 on a 2-year contract.

Verizon Employees Get Teased With "New Devices", Six Devices Incoming?

Labels: , , ,

Verizon has just teased everyone with the picture you see above. Well, they actually only sent this to Verizon Wireless employees, but it got leaked out. I'm going to guess that at least one of these devices will be the HTC Incredible.

Update: According to Electronista, the Incredible could get launched on April 25th.

Update: According to Slash Gear, the codename 6 could mean that Verizon is set to launch six new phones! This is great news and they could include the HTC Incredible, the LG VS750, two Microsoft Pink devices (Pure and Turtle), and the Samsung U820 Reality. They could also be launching the BlackBerry Bold 9650 and the Google Nexus One. Yes, that's six phones, but we'll see what happens in a couple of days.
