Unlike Rogers it looks like Bell may actually release the HTC Desire Z on time. Apparently, they're already shipping the devices to stores and it'll be ready for its launch which will be next week - November 3rd. I hope Rogers pulled out their notepads because it's time for them to take notes.
The Desire Z features a 3.7-inch WVGA touchscreen display, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a new 800MHz Qualcomm CPU, a microSD card slot, WiFi b/g/n / Bluetooth support, and Android 2.2 and the Sense UI.

Bell has just announced something great for the Android lovers in Canada. Of course, we already knew this but they've just announced that they'll be launching the HTC Desire Z in the future. It's still listed as "Coming Soon" to "Canada's best network" so we'll have to wait a little bit longer. The carrier didn't announce exactly when the smartphone would be available but it should be in the next month or so.
As a refresher, the Desire Z features a 3.7-inch WVGA touchscreen display, the new 800MHz Qualcomm CPU, a 5MP AF camera with a flash and 720p HD video recording, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, Flash 10.1 support, and Android 2.2. "Froyo" with the Sense UI. And yes, you'll be able to use this smartphone as a mobile hotspot if you ever need to.

The HTC Desire Z is going to be hitting Bell in Canada but we already know that. The latest internal screenshot coming from the carrier shows that they intend to release this for $499.99 (likely $499.95 when it actually launches) contract-free. This means that it could launch for $149.95 on a 3-year contract just like when the carrier released the Galaxy S Vibrant in August. The launch date is still unknown but Mobile Syrup is hearing that it could be as early as November 4th. Maybe I'll sell my Captivate for a Desire Z when it comes out, we'll see.

Today, HTC has announced two Android smartphones set for a release in Europe / Asia - and maybe even Canada if we're lucky enough. The first one is the T-Mobile G2 variant for people who don't live in the US, the Desire Z. The HTC Desire Z packs the exact same spec sheet as the G2, so you'll find the new Qualcomm 800MHz CPU, HSPA+ connectivity, and Android 2.2. The difference between the G2 and the Desire Z is that this smartphone clearly sports the Sense UI while the G2 does not. This will be available in Europe / Asia sometime in October and will also be hitting North America (Canada?) sometime later in 2010.
The other smartphone that the company has announced is the Desire HD which also comes with Android 2.2 along with the Sense UI. Specs include a 4.3-inch LCD display, a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, an 8MP camera with a dual-LED flash and 720p HD video recording, HSPA+ connectivity, WiFi 802.11n support, and Dolby Mobile. This is basically the EVO for Europe / Asia and maybe even Canada if we're lucky. It'll be hitting Europe / Asia sometime in October as well.

British E-Tailer Confirms the Desire HD and the Desire Z, On Its Way To Europe

We already heard that the HTC Vision could be the Desire Z, while the HTC Ace will be the Desire HD. The Desire HD is said to be the European EVO 4G (without the 4G connectivity), while the Desire Z will pretty much be the HTC Desire with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Hopefully, the Desire Z hits North America as well and it just might find a home at T-Mobile USA. As you can see in the image above, the Desire HD will be running Android 2.2 "Froyo" while the Desire Z is stuck with version 2.1. Check it out on mobiles.co.uk.
