Bell Releases the HTC HD7 and Telus Releases the HTC Desire HD

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , ,

The title really says it all. Bell released the HTC HD7 running Windows Phone 7, while Telus released the HTC Desire HD which runs Android 2.2 with the Sense UI. The Desire HD is the better of the two (slightly) because it features a more mature OS, a better camera, and you're able to use it as a WiFi hotspot if you need to. Of course, that makes it $50 more on a 3-year contract ($149.99 vs $99.99). The decision is yours now.

Telus' HTC Desire HD Pricing Leaks, $149.99 On a 3-Year Contract

Labels: , , , , , ,

We know that Canada's Telus will be launching the Android-based HTC Desire HD very soon and it looks like the official price has finally leaked. This smartphone will cost $149.99 on a 3-year contract, $399.99 on a 2-year contract, $449.99 on a 1-year contract, and $499.99 contract-free. You might want to head over to the store on launch day though because there's no telling how many of these they'll have. At least now you know how much money to save up.

Labels: , , , , , ,

It looks like the HTC Desire HD is going to be released soon. The dummy model has just been spotted in one Telus store in Canada. This will be one of the best Android phones to hit the Canadian market with a 4.3-inch WVGA LCD display, a microSD card slot, a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, WiFi / Bluetooth support, an 8MP camera, a 1,230mAh battery, and Android 2.2 with the Sense UI. This should be hitting the carrier for $499.99 contract-free.

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

AT&T has just announced that their Desire HD variant, the HTC Inspire 4G, will be available starting on February 13th. The most impressive part about this is that it'll cost just $99.99 on a 2-year contract. Of course, if you want HSPA+ speeds you're going to have to cough up quite a bit of money every month. If you're interested, this smartphone packs a 4.3-inch WVGA display, a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, an 8MP rear-facing camera, a unibody aluminum design, and Android 2.2.

HTC Desire HD Now "Coming Soon" To Telus

Labels: , , , , , ,

Telus has just put up the HTC Desire HD on their website (here) and it's listed as "Coming Soon". We don't know exactly when or for how much it'll be available for so we'll have to wait around for that. Bell is getting the HD7 soon so Telus should price this one right so that they'll be able to sell more of them. I do believe that the Desire HD is the better smartphone though.

HTC Inspire 4G Gets Officially Announced For AT&T, Launching With HSPA+ -- Hitting Telus Too!

Labels: , , , , , , , , ,

It looks like the HTC Inspire 4G that we heard about last night has just bit made official. This handset is sporting a 4.3-inch display and definitely looks like the Desire HD with Android along with the new and improved Sense UI. Specs are still pretty much unknown right now but it's set for AT&T in the USA with HSPA+ connectivity.

Update: Coming from Slash Gear is word that the Inspire 4G features a Super Clear LCD display, a 1GHz CPU, an 8MP rear-facing camera with HD video recording, an aluminum body, GPS, WiFi / Bluetooth support, and Android 2.2. This will be launching in Q1 which means a few weeks from now.

Update: According to Unwired View, this smartphone will also be hitting Telus in Canada! Looks like Rogers is the only one without a 4G phone now - probably because their network isn't ready yet.

HTC Desire HD Looks Like It'll Be Hitting Canada, Possibly On Telus

Labels: , , , , , ,

Here's some good news for my Canadian readers! Coming from The Cellular Guru is word on the HTC Desire HD making its way to Canada, via an unknown carrier. The screenshot above was taken from htcsense.com and could mean that Telus would be getting it. TCG assumes that it'll be Telus since Bell got exclusive rights to the Desire Z already. Telus is in need of a new Android handset before the end of the year - along with the Galaxy S Fascinate.

In case you forgot, the Desire HD features a 4.3-inch WVGA touchscreen display, 1.5GB of ROM, 768MB of RAM, a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, an 8MP AF camera with a dual-LED flash and 720p HD video recording, a microSD card slot, WiFi b/g/n / Bluetooth 2.1 support, and Android 2.2 with the new Sense UI.

Labels: , , , , , , , , , ,

Vodafone UK has just released two handsets that you might be interested in. The 12MP toting Nokia N8 and the HTC Desire HD, which I think is the better of the two. The N8 handset sports the new Symbian^3 OS, which still needs a bit of improvement but it's a great cameraphone if that's what you're interested in. The Desire HD, on the other hand, sports a 4.3-inch WVGA SLCD display, a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, 1.5GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, 768MB of RAM, WiFi b/g/n / Bluetooth 2.1 support, an 8MP AF caemra with a dual-LED flash and 720p HD video recording, and Android 2.2 with the new Sense UI.

In Australia, it has just been announced that they'll be getting the Android-based HTC Desire HD smartphone sometime in the future. Prices are unknown right now but it should be available for free on select contracts. The Desire HD will be exclusively available on both Vodafone and 3 down under so you better be willing to stay with one of those carriers.

As a refresher, the Desire HD packs a 4.3-inch WVGA touchscreen display, an 8MP camera with 720p HD video, a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, 768MB of RAM, WiFi / GPS / Bluetooth support, and Android 2.2 with the Sense UI. This is definitely of the best smartphones to hit the market.

HTC Desire HD Hits the FCC, the European Model

Labels: , , , , , ,

Something that was recently announced has just been spotted at the FCC and it's the HTC Desire HD. Sadly, this exact model doesn't have support for 3G use in North America so this one is headed to Europe. Over the next couple of days / weeks we could see one that does have support for 850 / 1900MHz connectivity though so don't worry. Check it out at the FCC if you're interested.

The LG Optimus One was officially announced earlier this week and T-Mobile UK has already mentioned that they'll be launching it sometime in the future. You can check it out on their website (here). Furthermore, there's another Android handset that will be hitting the carrier as well. Just announced this morning, it's the HTC Desire HD, which is like the EVO for Europe / Asia. This smartphone is on their site (here) and you can sign up for more information if you desire (see what I did there).

HTC Announces the Desire Z and the Desire HD, Both With Android 2.2 and the New Sense UI

Labels: , , , , , , , , ,

Today, HTC has announced two Android smartphones set for a release in Europe / Asia - and maybe even Canada if we're lucky enough. The first one is the T-Mobile G2 variant for people who don't live in the US, the Desire Z. The HTC Desire Z packs the exact same spec sheet as the G2, so you'll find the new Qualcomm 800MHz CPU, HSPA+ connectivity, and Android 2.2. The difference between the G2 and the Desire Z is that this smartphone clearly sports the Sense UI while the G2 does not. This will be available in Europe / Asia sometime in October and will also be hitting North America (Canada?) sometime later in 2010.

The other smartphone that the company has announced is the Desire HD which also comes with Android 2.2 along with the Sense UI. Specs include a 4.3-inch LCD display, a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, an 8MP camera with a dual-LED flash and 720p HD video recording, HSPA+ connectivity, WiFi 802.11n support, and Dolby Mobile. This is basically the EVO for Europe / Asia and maybe even Canada if we're lucky. It'll be hitting Europe / Asia sometime in October as well.

HTC Desire HD Gets Rendered... With WinMo For Some Unknown Reason

Labels: , , , , ,

Besides the WinMo OS posted on the device, the smartphone above is reportedly a render of the upcoming HTC Desire HD which is destined for Europe. Specs haven't been mentioned yet because this hasn't been announced yet. The Desire HD should be high-end though so you should wait for it if you're in need for an Android-based smartphone.

British E-Tailer Confirms the Desire HD and the Desire Z, On Its Way To Europe

Labels: , , , , , ,

We already heard that the HTC Vision could be the Desire Z, while the HTC Ace will be the Desire HD. The Desire HD is said to be the European EVO 4G (without the 4G connectivity), while the Desire Z will pretty much be the HTC Desire with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Hopefully, the Desire Z hits North America as well and it just might find a home at T-Mobile USA. As you can see in the image above, the Desire HD will be running Android 2.2 "Froyo" while the Desire Z is stuck with version 2.1. Check it out on mobiles.co.uk.
