There's a new rumour going around that Sony Ericsson's successor to the XPERIA X10 Mini and Mini Pro will be launching in May. This handset has leaked many times before and it's only a matter of time before the company actually announces it. Let's just hope that it really launches with a 3-inch touchscreen display, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a 1GHz CPU, and Android 2.3 "Gingerbread" with their own UI. Price is unknown right now.

Even more photos of the X10 Mini Pro successor has leaked this weekend. The name is still unknown and we're really hoping that Sony Ericsson makes this one official soon. The photos tell us that the handset will, indeed, be running on Android 2.3 "Gingerbread" so that's definitely great news. Doesn't look like this one will be PlayStation Certified though, so you'll still have to pick up an XPERIA Play if you want to relive your childhood.

Sony Ericsson just can't stop leaking their devices. This one you see above is reportedly going to be the successor to the XPERIA X10 Mini Pro so it's definitely running Android. Of course, being the "Pro" model, this should also feature a slide-out QWERTY keyboard which makes typing on this device a whole lot easier. This handset actually managed to pump 42.5fps on Neocore which is quite impressive. Engadget points out that this is close to what the Nexus S got.

Beneath its 3-inch 320 x 480 multitouch display you can expect a 1GHz CPU with an Adreno 205 GPU along with rear and front-facing cameras and Android 2.3 "Gingerbread". Sony Ericsson is definitely trying to get its mojo back!

If you live in the UK and you love O2 then there's another Android phone you can pick up, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini Pro. This is one of the smallest Android phones to date and it, thankfully, features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard - unlike the non-Pro model. Of course, the handset is available for free on contract where you'll have to pay at least £25 monthly. Check it out on O2's site if you're interested.

Vodafone has just released three new devices on their network and the first one is coming from RIM. The BlackBerry Pearl 3G (9105) is now available for free on a 2-year contract where'll you'll have to pay £25 monthly (here). This will be enough to get you 300 minutes and 500MB of data every month. Being the 9105 model, RIM has decided to replace their SureType QWERTY keyboard on this one and replaced it with a standard T9 keypad.

The other two handsets that are available are running on the Android OS. The first one is the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini Pro, which is one of the smallest Android phones to hit the market. Being the Pro model, this sports a slide-out QWERTY keyboard along with the 2.55-inch touchscreen display. This will, of course, be available for free on a 2-year contract (here). You'll fork up £20 monthly and that will get you 100 minutes, 500 texts, and 500MB of data every month.

The other Android-based handset is the LG Optimus which is the GT540. This handset is also now available for free on a 2-year contract (here). You'll pay £20 monthly for 100 minutes, 500 texts, and 500MB of data every month. This handset sports a 3-inch resistive touchscreen display with a 320 x 480 resolution, HSDPA connectivity, WiFi b/g / Bluetooth 2.1 + A2DP, 130MB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, a 3.15MP camera, a 1,500mAh battery, and Android 1.6.

Yesterday we heard that the Samsung Galaxy Apollo would be available on T-Mobile UK this August and now we're hearing that two more handsets are going to be hitting the carrier in the neat future as well. This includes the one you see above, the Sony Ericsson Spiro and the Nokia N8 which is below. The Spiro is the lower-end of the two, sporting a 2.2-inch QVGA display, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth, a microSD card slot, and a 2MP camera. This slider will be available sometime in August. The Nokia N8 is one of the better smartphones out there - hindered by Symbian^3 if that's not your style - and it sports a 12MP camera with a Carl Zeiss lens, a 3.5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display (360 x 640 resolution), a 3.5mm headphone jack, 16GB of internal storage, 256MB of RAM, 512MB of ROM, a microSD card slot, Bluetooth 3.0 / WiFi b/g/n, and a 680MHz CPU. Sadly, for the N8 you'll have to wait until October which is three months away.

Vodafone already has the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini and it looks like they're going to be releasing the XPERIA X10 Mini Pro as well. It's now up on their "Coming Soon" page and it'll be available for free on select contracts. Another carrier in the UK will get it as well, T-Mobile. You can check this one out here, but it sadly says that you'll have to wait until September, which is a 2 month wait.

GCF has just approved of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini Pro for Europe and North America. There's really not much to tell you here, but any carrier in either region could get it right now. For North America we have AT&T in the US and Rogers, Bell, and Telus in Canada.

O2 is going to be one of the first carriers to launch the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini. They're reportedly going to launch the handset on June 2nd, but that's not all. They're also going to be launching the X10 Mini Pro on June 24th, so both models are going to be available in less than a month's time. Pretty awesome stuff. Sadly, all of Sony Ericsson's Android phones are running on Android 1.6. That's bad news because Android 2.1 has been out for a while now and it's a huge upgrade over version 1.6. Sony Ericsson has just announced that their XPERIA X10, X10 Mini, and X10 Mini Pro will be getting the version 2.1 upgrade sometime in Q4 of this year. Again, this will likely be behind because Android 2.2 will probably already be available.

Apparently, Canada could be getting the Sony Ericsson Vivaz in the future. A reliable tipster has mentioned that the handset could hit Rogers sometime in September. This handset packs a 3.2-inch touchscreen display with a 360 x 640 resolution, an 8.1MP AF camera that can shoot 720p video, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a microSD card slot, WiFi support, and the S60 OS.

Along with this news, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini will reportedly be priced at $49.99 while the X10 Mini Pro will be priced at $69.99. Both of these prices are unconfirmed.

We already know that Canada's Rogers is set to launch the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 in the near future (possibly tomorrow), but the latest rumour states that they could also be planning to launch the X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro this Summer as well. These both feature a 2.55-inch QVGA touchscreen display, aGPS / WiFi / Bluetooth support, a 600MHz CPU, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a microSD card slot, a 5MP AF camera, and Android 1.6. Of course, the Mini Pro model sports a slide-out QWERTY keyboard as well. The prices are rumoured to be at around $50 on a 3-year contract - if it actually hits the carrier.

I just talked about Sony Ericsson mentioning the XPERIA X10 Mini / Mini Pro and it looks like Akihabara News has just got their hands-on with the device. They've mentioned that the QWERTY keyboard is "fully capable" although it does seem a bit small. The spec sheet includes a Qualcomm MSM7227 600MHz CPU, a 2.5-inch QVGA touchscreen display, a microSD card (2GB card inside), a 5MP AF camera, 3G / Bluetooth / WiFi support, GPS support, and Android 1.6 with SE's own custom UI. Of course, there's a bunch of social integration on-board as well.

It looks liek Sony Ericsson has made a couple of new handsets official at their press conference this afternoon. The first one they announced was the Sony Ericsson Vivaz and the XPERIA X10 which we already knew were on the way in the first half of this year. They've also gone on to make the Sony Ericsson "Kanna" official as the Vivaz Pro! They didn't talk about it much at all so we'll have to wait for the full spec sheet later. I'm hoping it mirrors the specs of the Vivaz, except this one has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

They weren't done there. Right after the Vivaz Pro was announced, they announced the XPERIA X10 Mini aka Robyn. This handset will be available in a couple of different colours (five, see below). This handset will be running Android and will be packed with Timescape and Mediascape. In case that wasn't enough for you they've also announced the X10 Mini Pro, so that's the XPERIA X10 shrunken down and including a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Awesome stuff. All of these handsets will be available in Q2 of this year.
