Sqaure Enix has just announced that Final Fantasy IX will be hitting the PS3's PSN in the near future. Obviously, the exact date wasn't mentioned so we'll really just have to wait and see exactly when this drops. Let's hope it's available for the Summer because it's a pretty good game to kill some time with.
Update: We knew it was on the way really soon, and Joystiq has just mentioned that it'll hit the Japanese PSN starting on May 20th.

It should be priced at $29.95 on a 3-year contract and $329.95 contract-free. We don't know when it will be launching now and neither do they, so we'll really just have to wait.

Just in time for those lucky contestants who are about to win Sprint's contest. The HTC EVO 4G has just passed the FCC with Sprint and Clearwire's WiMAX (2500MHz bands). Of course, it also has CDMA and EV-DO connectivity. This is pretty amazing, so we'll just have to wait around until Sprint USA gets it.

We already know that Nintendo is working on their 3DS gaming handheld which will have 3D functionalities without the need of glasses. Iwata has just mentioned that you'll be able to turn the 3D functionality off, which is great news. We already know that the 3DS will be backwards-compatible, so this is good news that every single game will be 2D-capable. Mehh, let's just find out at E3 this June.

Verizon iPhone 4G Coming This Year? Some Verizon Employees Under NDA
Apparently, the Verizon iPhone could really be coming this year, if you believe what Engadget is hearing. Word on the street is that the iPhone on Verizon will be running on their upcoming LTE (4G) network. Some Verizon employees are under NDA right now and they're supposedly testing this device right now, so that's pretty awesome and this could mean that it's real. Of course, Verizon's LTE network will be quite premature if the iPhone comes this year so it'll likely run on their CDMA network as well. Engadget has got a lengthy post on their website so you might find it interesting to read it, go on over.

13-Inch Toshiba Notebook To Look Sexy and Pack Fast-Charging SCiB Battery?
Apparently, Toshiba plans to make a sexy new 13-inch notebook with some quite amazing specs and a new fast-charging SCiB (Super Charged ion Battery) battery. The teaser picture is above and it looks quite thin as well. Apparently, the battery will be able to change to 90% in just 10 minutes, which is definitely impressive. The notebook itself will be packed with Intel Core i3 / i5 / i7-620 CPU options, up to 4GB of RAM, a 500GB HDD / 512GB SSD, and a USB 3.0 port. I doubt it'll be cheap, so save up if you're willing to get one. Apparently, this notebook will also be the lightest 13-inch notebook in the world.

With the BlackBerry Pearl 3G (9100) on the way to Canada's Bell they've decided to put their Pearl 8130 on pre-paid. You can now get that phone for $199.99 since they're trying to get rid of that stock as soon as possible. They've even decided to throw in $30 worth of credits. I'm sure you can wait for the Pearl 3G though.

The Palm Pre Plus looks like it'll be hitting AT&T on May 16th - finally. It's going to be priced at $149.99 on a 2-year contract, which is definitely way too much. Hopefully AT&T has a change of heart of that price tag because they won't sell any at that price.
