GCF Approves the Huawei Ideos X3 Running "Gingerbread"
Like the title says, it looks like the Huawei Ideos X3 has just been approved by the GCF. This phone officially features tri-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity along with UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA 2100MHz. We heard about this phone in February so it should feature a 3.2-inch touchscreen display, a microSD card slot, WiFi b/g/n / Bluetooth 2.1 support, a 3.2MP AF camera, a front-facing camera, a 600MHz CPU, and a 9.9mm thin body. Interesting stuff, I wonder when it'll actually be available.

Samsung has just shown off a glimpse of the future. At FPD China they have unveiled a large 55-inch glasses-free 3DTV prototype which was actually working pretty good. The display reportedly has 9 different angles where you can watch the 3D from and, of course, you can switch it to 2D mode whenever you want. Unfortunately, they mentioned that this technology probably won't be ready for the mainstream until 3 years down the road.

Dell has updated a bunch of their latest notebooks and this time it's the Vostro 3000 line-up. This includes the 13, 14, 15, and 17.3-inch models and they're now all packing Intel "Sandy Bridge" Core i3 / i5 / i7 CPU options which is great. Inside the aluminum body and matte displays you'll find: HDD / SSD options, up to 8GB of RAM, and even a 9-cell battery if you want. Of course, these notebooks come packed with SRS Pro sound, HD webcams, and new backlit chiclet keyboards. Going in size order, they'll cost you $599, $499, $499, and $549, which is definitely quite reasonable. Yes, the smallest model is the most expensive one because they cramp powerful processors in a small body and you'll get more battery life from it.

We already know that the Nokia C7 is going to hit T-Mobile USA but TMoNews is back at it again. This time they have mentioned that it won't be launching as the "Tiger", instead it might actually be the Nokia Astound. The rumoured launch for this handset is now April 6th and it should cost $79.99 on a 2-year contract. The handset is running Symbian^3 so it's not exactly the best OS out there. If love Nokia and you live in the US then wait around for it.

So far we already know that the Big 3 along with Videotron and WIND Mobile will be getting the smartphone but it's also reportedly headed to Fido and Koodo Mobile as well. That's some great news! Asus Aiming To Launch a $200 - $250 Android / Chrome OS Netbook
DigiTimes has just mentioned something pretty cool that's apparently coming from a supplier's mouth. The report says that Asus is looking to really undercut the netbooks that we're used to seeing right now. Apparently, the company plans to launch a $200 to $250 netbook running on Google's Android or, hopefully, Chrome OS. The notebook will reportedly be a 10 or 11-inch model and will be free subsidized on a carrier if you wan to sign a 6-month contract. Hmm, this might be something I'm interested in if it's a $200 netbook running Chrome OS.
