Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , ,

On Tuesday, May 4th, Canada's Rogers will be doing their usual price cut fiasco. This time around the handsets are the BlackBerry Curve 8330, the Pearl 8110, the Pearl Flip 8230, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1, and the Nokia E71. All of these handsets will be available for $9.99 on a 3-year contract where the data plan is required. The LG Xenon, Nokia 5310, and Nokia 6750 will also be getting their own price cuts.

Koodo Mobile To Launch Silver BlackBerry Curve 8530 and Pink Pearl Flip (8230) Soon

Labels: , , , , ,

Canada's Koodo Mobile is going to be getting a couple of new BlackBerry devices in the near future. Somewhere between May 18th and the 26th they should be getting a silver BlackBerry Curve 8530 and a pink BlackBerry Pearl Flip. Of course, the Pearl Flip is kind of old news by now, especially when the BlackBerry 9670 popped up two days ago.

BlackBerry 9650, 8230, Motorola ES400, and Palm C40 Spotted In Sprint's Order Forms

Labels: , , , , , , , , , ,

A couple of new devices may be headed to Sprint in the near future. I'm talking about the BlackBerry 9650 (Tour 2), the BlackBerry 8230 Flip, and the Motorola ES400. The 8230 Flip is an old handset so there's nothing in there that shouldn't be outdated by now. Boy Genius is guessing that the Motorola handset will be running Android and not Windows Mobile. The Palm C40 also makes an appearance in these order forms as well.

Verizon To Retire the BlackBerry Storm 9530, Curve 8330, Curve 8830, and Pearl Flip 8230 Soon

Labels: , , , , , ,

As you can see it looks like Verizon is running dry on their stock of the BlackBerry Storm 9530, Curve 8330, Curve 8830, and the Pearl Flip 8230. I don't think this is bad news since the BlackBerry Storm 2, Curve 8530, and Tour 9630 are out already. Of course, maybe this could mean that Verizon could launch the next Pearl (9100) soon - y'know the one with the trackball. Maybe they're even going to launch the Tour2 soon.

Canada's Virgin Mobile Cuts All of Their BlackBerry Prices To Free On Contract

Labels: , , , ,

Canada's Virgin Mobile slashed their BlackBerry prices just a couple of weeks ago and they've done it again. All of their BlackBerries are now free on a 3-year contract. This includes: the BlackBerry Pearl 8130, the Flip 8230, and the Curve 8330. Yes, these are fairly old models, so maybe it'll be worth waiting for their new models to come in.

Keep in mind that the Curve 8330 is the only one that got the price cut today, the other two have been free for a couple of weeks now. Check it out on Virgin's website here.

Up here in Canada, it looks like Virgin Mobile has slashed the prices on their BlackBerry Pearl 8130, the BB Flip 8230, and even the Curve 8330. If you're interested the Pearl and the Flip are now available for free on a 3-year contract and the Curve 8330 is now available for just $29.99 CAD on a 3-year contract.

Verizon Outlines Future BlackBerry News

Labels: , , , , , ,

There's not much for me to say because this excerpt says it all:

  • All Verizon BlackBerry handsets launched after the BlackBerry Tour will have Wi-Fi

  • The Storm 2’s screen does not press in like SurePress, rather it operates more like traditional capacitive touch screen panels. We’re not sure if the rumored TruePress is just localized haptic feedback or what, but we can’t imagine RIM abandoning their entire fucking selling point on the Storm.

  • We have no idea what to think of this part, but, our tipster said the BlackBerry Tour would be accompanied by a BlackBerry Atlas with the Atlas having Wi-Fi, not the Tour. Again, don’t flip out, but it’s just what was told to us by this particular tipster.

  • BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 release is “imminent”. We’d say May release, June latest.

  • 8230 specs… EV-DO Rev. 0, 2.0 MP Camera, 3.5 ounces, Flash 128 MB, RAM 64 MB, SD Card - Expandable to 16GB, Usage/Standby - 220 min. / 216 hrs.

  • The WiFi part is a good sign, since it means no more pulling WiFi from BlackBerries aka Storm. The Storm 2's capacitive-like touchscreen is also a good thing - for most of us. The whole Tour and Atlas bit is really confusing, so we'll just have to see what happens in the future. And, last and least, the Pearl Flip 8230 doesn't really matter to me.
