Acer Liquid Stream Gets Officially Announced, This Time With 1GHz Snapdragon CPU -- With Video

Labels: , , ,

Acer has finally announced their Android-based Liquid Stream handset as just the Acer Stream. This one has popped up a couple of times in the past couple of weeks and Acer has decided to spill all the beans for us. The Liquid Stream will feature a 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, 512MB of RAM, 2GB of internal storage, a 5MP camera that can record 720p HD video, a microSD card slot, HSDPA connectivity, WiFi b/g/n / Bluetooth support, an HDMI port, and their own custom UI over top of Android 2.1. The handset itself is 11.2mm thick so it's not bad. You'll also be able to blast the FM radio thanks to Dolby Mobile support. Check out a lengthy video below - you don't have to watch the whole thing.

Acer Liquid Stream Hits the FCC With 850/1900MHz 3G Bands

Labels: , , , ,

The Acer Liquid Stream almost got through the FCC without noticing, but obviously somebody did. The FCC calls it the Acer S110 and we know that it features a (3.7-inch?) touchscreen display, 850/1900MHz bands, a 5MP camera with 720p HD video recording capabilities, WiFi / Bluetooth support, an HDMI output, a 1,400mAh battery, and Android. The version of Android is still unknown (hopefully 2.1 at least) and the clock speed of Snapdragon CPU inside is also unknown, hopefully they decided to put it at 1GHz though. Check out the FCC filing here if you have time to kill.

At Google I/O, Google showed off every single device running on their Android OS thus far. Some of them haven't hit the market yet, so we got some new photos of a few devices. A couple of the upcoming handsets were on display including the Samsung I5800 / I5801 which may end up being the Galaxy 3. The I5500 was also on display and this may end up being the Galaxy 5 - not the Corby or the Genio.

Update: According to The Unwired, the Samsung I5500 has just got hit the GCF and this one's headed to Europe.

The Acer Liquid Stream was also on display and it's reportedly sporting a 3.7-inch display along with a Snapdragon CPU.
