This week is pretty big for Canadians. Bell is launching their HSPA network tomorrow along with their slew of phones and Telus is going to do the same thing in two days. Well, to protect themselves a little bit, both Rogers and Fido have introduced some new handsets.

Rogers is now selling the BlackBerry Bold 9700 for $299.99 CAD on a 3-year contract, $499.99 on a 2-year contract, $549.99 on a 1-year contract, and $599.99 contract-free. Check it out on Rogers' website here.


Rogers has gone on to retail their third Android handset and LG's first. The LG Eve (GW620) is now available for $49.99 CAD on a 3-year contract, $299.99 on a 2-year contract, $349.99 on a 1-year contract, and $399.99 contract-free. Check it out on Rogers' website here.


Fido has also released a new handset, the Sony Ericsson T715a. This handset is now available for $50 on a 2-year contract or for $200 contract-free or prepaid. Check it out on Fido's website here.

Fido Launching Nokia 2720 Fold an Sony Ericsson T715a By the End of November

Fido has just announced that they'll be launching the Nokia 2720 Fold and the Sony Ericsson T715a by the end of November. As a refresher, the 2720 Fold has: a 1.3MP camera with video capabilities, an FM radio with RDS, Bluetooth support, and a 2.5mm headphone jack. It's expected to launch for free on a 2-year contract and $125 CAD contract-free or prepaid.

The T715a is a slider handset that features a 2.2-inch display with a 240 x 320 resolution and a 3.2MP camera. This handset is expected to launch for $50 CAD on a 2-year contract and $175 CAD contract-free or prepaid.

The Sony Ericsson T715a that we heard about back in June has just passed the FCC with 3G bands that are fully capable of working on AT&T's networks. In case you forgot, the Sony Ericsson T715a has: a 2.2-inch QVGA display, a 3.2MP camera, Bluetooth 2.0 + A2DP, 90MB of internal memory, a microSD card slot, and an FM radio.

Another Sony Ericsson handset that just passed the FCC is the Aino. Usually in the box, you'll find headphones, but they're always wired. Thankfully, the Aino has just passed the FCC and their will be wireless stereo headphones in the box. Other confirmed features of this phone are its: Remote Play, built-in Facebook client, and its 8.1MP camera. Take a look at the official FCC filing for all of its other interesting information.

Sony Ericsson Reveal Another Mid-End Handset, the T715

Sony Ericsson has just announced their latest mid-end handset, the T715. Its got: a 2.2-inch QVGA display, a 3.15MP camera with an LED flash and Cell-ID geotagging, Bluetooth 2.0 + A2DP, FM radio, and 3G. It looks pretty decent with its Galaxy Silver colour and its piano finish, but it will also be available in Rogue Pink which is seen below. The Sony Ericsson T715 will also have a microSD slot, quad-band GSM/GPRS / tri-band HSPA, and support for Google Maps and Google Search right on the home screen. On the home screen, Sony Ericsson have implemented a "smart desktop feature" which will give the user reminders of birthdays / holidays and will also display notes. The T715 is expected to hit the market in Q3 of this year, but the price has not been mentioned yet. For more pictures and details, check out the link below.
