There's not much to say here but Polyphony Digital and Sony are aiming for a March release date for Gran Turismo 5 in Japan. The more important news though is that North America could be getting the game as early as Summer 2010. This game has been in production for over 3 years, but they are willing to take their sweet time.

Gran Turismo 5 isn't even available yet and Polyphony is already talking about Gran Turismo 6. As you may or may not know, fans have been waiting for Gran Turismo 5 for a couple of years now and they've announced that it'll finally be available in March 2010 - in Japan. Well, Polyphony's boss, Kazunori Yamauchi, has just told the world that Gran Turismo 6 won't take as long as Gran Turismo 5 to hit the market, which is great news if they can really pull through. He mentioned that GT5 took so long because they developed it from scratch. With GT6, they'll have a good foundation already and they can just improve on GT5.

Even though we heard rumours that it would launch this year those turned out to be false. At TGS, they announced that Gran Turismo 5 will be available in Japan starting in March 2010. It'll likely launch after March in other parts of the world, so it sucks that we always have to be the ones waiting for everything.

A lot of rumoured dates have been swirling around about the long-awaited Gran Turismo 5 game for PS3. If you can believe Amazon, they are now taking pre-orders for the game and they expect to start shipping it on December 29th of this year. Now that definitely seems a bit awkward because that'll be right after Christmas. I'm hoping that it comes out before then. Check it out here, Amazon is selling it for $56.99 USD.

Sony is really looking to make a charge and they're going to do it with the help of Assassin's Creed II and Gran Turismo 5. If this rumour is true, you can forget about that so-called March 2010 release of GT5 that we heard back in April. Yes, all of these bundles include the new PS3 Slim. Keep in mind this is just a rumour right now.

Gran Turismo 5 In March 2010; Will Have PSP2 Version

Now call that a rumour. "Gran Turismo 5 is coming out in March 2010. Or December 2009, depending on your interpretation. It will have a simultaneous worldwide release." GT5 will have around 600 cars, 90 tracks, and users will also have the ability to make their own tracks, which is a new feature if I can remember correctly. I'm pretty sure no other Gran Turismo has let you make your own tracks. Anyways, GT5 will also have a voice chat feautre and clan / team support - I'm guessing that's for online use. GT5 will have 3 versions: an expensive "full" version, a stripped-down cheaper version that lets the user choose what they want to download, and a PSP2 version. That is one huge rumour. A rumour about a game that doesn't exist being released on a console / handheld that doesn't officially exist. We'll see what happens later this year.

Need For Speed: Shift Revealed

This isn't the so-called Need for Speed MMO, but it is a racer. For a change, the "Underground" feel is gone. The video below is actual gameplay footage and it looks great. I know I'm tired of the whole neon lights look and the whole "street" look that Need for Speed was trying to portray. Finally, it looks like Need for Speed has grown up into a mature racer. It doesn't have the gameplay of a Gran Turismo but, on the bright side, it won't be as delayed as it either.
