Samsung Instinct HD Spotted on Recent Sprint Newsletter -- Launching September 27?

Labels: , , ,

Even though Sprint hasn't officially announced the Samsung Instinct HD we know they're launching it soon. The Instinct HD was just leaked on a Sprint Premier Connection newsletter. There's nothing specifically "HD" about this handset, but oh well.

Update: According to Electronista, this handset could be launching on September 27th of this year.

Android-Based Samsung InstinctQ M900 Headed to UK on O2

Labels: , , , , , ,

Two days ago, the first pictures on the Sprint-bound Samsung InstinctQ M900 popped up. The latest word is that this Android-based handset is actually headed to UK via O2 soon. The specs of this handset hasn't been mentioned yet, so we're still looking into that. Fortunately, we do know that this handset has WiFi connectivity and, obviously, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

Sprint Launching Instinct S50 in Mid-September, Android-Based InstinctQ M900 in November?

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

Samsung's Instinct S50 has gotten a bunch of name changes. First, it was dubbed the M850 Dash, then the Instinct S50, then the Instinct HD, and now, again, the Instinct S50. We don't really care what the name is at this point, but what you should know is that it's expected to launch on Sprint in mid-September. This is awfully close to the September 8th release date that we heard just four days ago.

The other Samsung Instinct handset that will launch this year is the InstinctQ M900. This could be Sprint's first Android phone and it looks like it could be available sometime in Novemeber. It's a bit later than the October 11th rumour we heard about in late July, but this is just a rumour as well.

Samsung Instinct Mini Isn't All That Mini

Labels: , , , , , ,

This is the comparison shot. Clearly, the Samsung Instinct Mini is not so "Mini" beside its older brother. The Mini is actually a bit larger than the original Instinct, sporting a 3.2-inch screen compared to the Instinct's 3.1-inch screen. It also has some software updates so the Mini is basically just a slightly larger - in size - upgrade. I just thought I'd clarify that. Maybe that's what they'll do with the iPhone Nano too? It's a joke.

Lenovo X1; Combining A Bit Of Everything

Labels: , , , , , , , , , ,

This Lenovo X1 (sold in only China) handset won the Red Dot design award. But why? It looks like it has pulled a couple of things from a couple of big manufacturers and I wouldn't have got these ideas without Engadget's point-of-view first. First of all the naming is similar to the Sony Ericsson X1 that is also sold in China. To Engadget, it looks like a Samsung Instinct with the TouchWiz UI. Keep in mind that Lenovo had some balls to call this "unique" UI the "Touch Dream", "which sounds just a little bit like an HTC device." I should also point out that the keypad looks similar to the Nokia N86, which is not a good thing. Throw them altogether and I think the handset looks decent, besides the keypad.
