Please Sony, tell me this is a joke. They've announced their "big" announcement. Instead of dropping the absurd price of the Playstation 3 they have decided to drop the already low price of the Playstation 2 even more. To $100 USD. I'm really hoping that this is a Sony April Fool's joke. It has to be. Looks like Kotaku was right, the PS2 would be getting a price drop - one that's not needed though. Who's still buying the PS2 nowadays?

Believe it or not but this is confirmed news. Sony will be announcing something on Tuesday, March 31. No one knows exactly what it is, but Kotaku is "leaning" towards a price drop. But wait, a price drop for the Playstation 2 and not for the Playstation 3. Sony could be announcing a price drop down to $99 USD for the Playstation 2. I will be extremely pissed off if Sony really decides to drop the price of the PS2 because no one cares about it anymore. Just drop the damn Playstation 3 price Sony, come on. I still want to get mine, y'know.

Since the Nintendo Wii is aimed at such a large fanbase and is not a next-gen console (in my books), it is on pace to sell its 50 millionth console by the end of this month. This blistering pace is much faster than the Playstation 2's. The Wii is the fastest selling console to date and will continue to be that console for a couple of years. It will sell 100 million consoles faster than the Playstation 2 did. I hate to say it, but it will. There's just too many kids and women in the world that love the Nintendo Wii (for unknown reasons). It's audience is huge and it's cheaper than the other 2 consoles (Xbox 360 and Playstation 3). The Playstation 2 is still the superior console in my books. I must admit that I am excited for the release of Punch-Out (May 18) for the Nintendo Wii.

Capcom's Devil May Cry franchise have now shipped 10 million units. This may not be the most gigantic news out there, but this is an amazing feat for Dante (main character in DMC). I am proud to say that I actually bought Devil May Cry 3, three times. The first two times, I bought it for myself and the third time was for my uncle (He's only 23, don't worry). DMC 3 was great and around the release of DMC 4, I really wanted it. But without a PS3, what was the point? I really, really wanted to get PS3 just for DMC4 because I enjoyed DMC3 so much. DMC might not have sold 10 million units yet, but they have shipped 10 million units, so they're almost there.

I'm just going to do 2 quick blog posts, regarding the aforementioned topics.

So, there is new rumour that has surfaced about the Nintendo DSi's release date. The release date? April 4 according to IGN. The price may be around $179.99 USD, so yeah. We'll see if Nintendo decides to officially announce this. I don't really follow the Nintendo DSi much, so i can't tell you the difference between the DS and the DSi. But, closer to the release date, i'm sure that some other site will do it for me.

Sony recently announced that the almighty Playstation 2 has sold 50 million units in North America. That is an amazing milestone, that the Wii may actually shatter (I hope not), unfortunately. If you don't follow my blogs very often, i actually do have a Playstation 2 and i haven't got the time to play Hot Shots Golf Fore lately. But, after exams, i will probably be hopping back onto that game, when i have the free-time. Next semester will be tough, but if i manage my time wisely, i should have time for it.

Last topic of the day. Fox is reportedly canceling Prison Break. After this season, Prison Break is over. I can't believe this, although it was a long-time coming. My girlfriend mentions that most of her friends have told her that the show has gone stale, ever since the first season ended. I watched the first 12 episodes with her and then decided to watch the rest of the episodes on my own, since she was busy with school. The show's main highlights were in the first few seasons, but it's sad to see it go. I'm not entirely caught up with the current season that they are on right now, but maybe one day i will finish it. Farewell, Prison Break. Bye, Mr. Scofield.

Sorry, for the short blog post, but yeah. I don't really have much time today. By the way, if you care, my Culminating Assignment went well today, even after coming 15 minutes late to class today. Thanks to the snow.
