Street Fighter IV, Samsung To Release At Least 3 Android Phones This Year, Samsung's Watch Phone, 3 INQ1 Is The Best Handset Of 2009

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , ,

The long-awaited sequel to Street Fighter III is finally here. Street Fighter IV has hit the shelves today. All the Street Fighter fans need to get this so that they can Hadouken and Shoryuken all of their friends. It makes me sad that i don't have a Playstation 3. I'm missing out on Street Fighter IV and Killzone 2, damn.

Unfortunately, Samsung didn't get to show their Android phones at MWC, but this was anticipated. Fortunately, fans everywhere are now rejoicing because Samsung says that "more than three" Android handsets will be coming by the end of the year. If they're Android handsets are touchscreen, i hope Samsung fixes the touch-y problems, like the ones on the OmniaHD.

You probably already know about LG's watch phone and may be looking to purchase it. Well, it's not going to be the only watch phone out because Samsung is showing off their own. The GT S-1100 looks like it'll have your standard touchscreen, Bluetooth and speakerphone, which is similar to LG's watch phone. There is no word on the price or when it will be released. But it could be a while, maybe you'll see it around next year.

3 UK's INQ1 was named the best handset of 2009. How they gave the award to this phone, i don't know. Wait, you've never heard of this phone? It's okay, me neither. At the GSMA awards, this phone (somehow) came out on top, beating out the likes of: LG KS360, T-Mobile G1, Blackberry Storm and the Nokia E71. Apparently, the phone won because it was tightly integrated with Facebook and last.fm and also supported Skype and Windows Live Messenger. All of that being said, i don't think this handset should've won. Terrible call.

LG's Android Phone By June; 2 More Later, Skype and Nokia, Android Apps Return Policy, Acer's 4 Newer Phones

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

LG recently announced that their first Android-running phone will be out by June. Another 2 Android phones will be released by the end of the year. There is no confirmed word yet, if it will be the LG KS360, but it could still be a possibility. LG should have made this switch sooner, since Windows Mobile 6.1 is full of fail. WinMo 6.5 should be a decent improvement though.

Skype has recently announced their partnership with Nokia. Skype will be implemented on Nokia's future "high-end smartphones, the N-series, and the N97, Nokia's flagship device that will go on sale in June." This would be good for me because Skype-to-Skype calls would still be free, which is amazing. Me and my girlfriend would be able to call each other all the time, even if she's on residence. Too bad the N97 is being delayed until June.

There will be a 24-hour return policy on Android apps that you buy, unlike Apple's app store. If you aren't satisfied, you will be able to return the app and, in the process, get your money back.

Acer's made a lot of buzz announcing that their will be 8 new smartphones from them this year, plus their 2 Android phones. The other 4 WinMo 6.1 phones are on an earlier blog post and the new 4 Acer smartphones are the: F1, C1, L1 and E1. Acer kept their mouth shut about most specifications and the prototypes at MWC were turned off. But, Engadget does know that the F1 (that is in the picture being compared to the iPhone) boasts a 5MP camera, but lacks the "Windows Mobile 6.5-required hardware Start button." For a gallery of the 4 Acer phones go here, via Engadget.

Epic Sign Hack, Huawei's Android Touchscreen, Samsung i8910 and Beat DJ Now Official, Orange: First To Rock LG Watch Phone, LG KS360

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , ,

This sign is epic. That's all i have to say.

Huawei has shown off a prototype non-working phone at MWC. Just one. The iPhone-esque design will be running a customized version of Android. Specially, just for this phone. The display looks quite large, maybe even larger than the 4.1-inch display on the Toshiba TG01. This phone is expected to be released in Q3 and has potential. It'll be interesting to hear more news about this Huawei phone at a later date. Probably not at MWC.

The Samsung OmniaHD / Acme i8910 and the Samsung Beat DJ are now official. The OmniaHD is "running a TouchWiz 3D-like GUI on top of S60 5th Edition." It has a nice 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, an 8MP camera and will record 720p HD video. It also has "HD video out, video calling, Wi-Fi, GSP and 8 to 16GB internal storage plus microSDHC support." Wow! The phone is also only 12.7mm thin, it's even aluminum. The Beat DJ has the DJ scratching thing, just in case you were interested in that phone over the OmniaHD.

LG's G910 Watch Phone will be hitting European soil first, specifically under Orange. The Watch Phone was officially announced at CES and will have Bluetooth, 3G, video calling and is a touchscreen. You will also be able to spy on other people with this slick gadget. So, all of you Inspector Gadget idols out there, be on the lookout for this one. I'd honestly get this, if i had the money for this and the OmniaHD. Unfortunately, i do not.

Word has it that this LG KS360 will be the first LG phone running on Google's Android OS. The KS360 has already been launched before, so they are going to relaunch it running on Android. "Marketing Manager Jeremy Newing also confirmed at Mobile World Congress that LG would be releasing two other Android phones this year, though he wouldn't divulge any model names or favorite colors for us to guess." So, there you have it, LG KS360 running Android soon and more Android phones from LG this year.
