Well, this was a bit unexpected but we knew it was on the way. Rogers has just released the Palm Pre 2 which is running WebOS 2.0. It's available right now for $99.99 on a 3-year contract, and for $449.99 contract-free. The Pre 2 features a 3.1-inch touchscreen display, a slide-up portrait QWERTY keyboard, WiFi / Bluetooth support, a 1GHz CPU, a 5MP camera with an LED flash, 16GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and 512MB of RAM to cap it off.
This is actually a pretty good handset for the price but Rogers does have quite the smartphone line-up already. Check it out on Rogers.

Motorola has just teased a new tablet. It calls the iPad just a giant iPhone and says that Samsung's Galaxy Tab is running the phone-optimized Android OS. With the bee buzzing by at the end, you expect Motorola's Android tablet to be made official, or at least teased, at next year's CES 2011 which is in two weeks. Andy Rubin was seen showing this tablet on stage at D: Dive Into Mobile.

Verizon Tweets That There Will Be An LTE-Based Android Handset At CES
Verizon has just mentioned that Android phones with LTE connectivity will be getting shown off at CES 2011 on January 6th. Of course, this doesn't tell us much, but we can expect the HTC Merge there. Hopefully, we'll have an official name - and the spec sheet - at that time. Check out the tweet here.

7-Inch Creative ZiiO Android 2.1 Based Tablet Available Right Now For $249
If you're looking for a cheap Android tablet for now then you might want to take a look at Creative's 7-inch ZiiO tablet which runs version 2.1 of the OS. Specs include a 400 x 800 resolution display, WiFi b/g / Bluetooth 2.1 support, and a front-facing VGA camera. Keep in mind that getting a cheap Android tablet does have its downfalls because you do get what you pay for with them. Of course, you always wait until Q1 2011 where we should see a Tegra 2 model from a major manufacturer. Check it out on Creative right now where the 8GB model is going for $249.99, while the 16GB model is $269.99.
