NEC Launching Phones Outside of Japan, Say Hello to Europe
"NEC, the third-largest Japanese phone manufacturer, plans to re-launch its handsets outside Japan, as early as 2010." This is probably due to the fact that NEC demand in Japan dropped 29% over the past year. Reuters have mentioned that launching phones in Europe could be a possibility for NEC and their goal is to sell 1 million handsets outside of Japan for an average of $300 each.
