Engadget Mobile has just picked up this leaked image. This tells us that Verizon will be releasing the Android 2.2 based LG Vortex for free on a 2-year contract - after a $100 mail-in rebate. This handset is definitely the new line of mid-end Android phones that are on the way. The future of dumbphones is now among us.
Future Shop Canada To Offer the BlackBerry Bold 9780 On Rogers For $179, Aka Too Expensive

Rogers really likes to price their devices a bit more expensive than the other carriers. It looks like Future Shop's Rogers BlackBerry Bold 9780 will also be a bit more expensive. After finding out that Best Buy would be launching it for $149.99 on a 3-year contract, Future Shop may be pricing it at $179.99 on a 3-year contract. This is definitely way above what Telus is offering it for right now ($99.99) so try to avoid this deal if it's possible.
