Three MeeGo-Based Tablets Spotted At Computex, The Quanta Redvale Impresses Engadget
What you see above is the Quanta Redvale tablet and this sets itself apart from the packs. It has a pretty nice design and it's based on Intel's 1.5GHz Moorestown CPU and the MeeGo OS. Engadget seemed very impressed with this tablet even though it's in its pre-alpha stage right now. It's set to hit the market in 2011 so it's still quite a ways away. They just had to test this one out for themselves and they mentioned that it was incredibly thin, light, and played 720p video playback "smoothly." Even though the display was resistive they said that it was very responsive. Of course, if you head to Engadget's site, they have a hands-on video with this tablet.
Update: Slash Gear also spotted two more MeeGo-based tablets, the Wistron W1 and the CZC P10T (pictured below). Who knows whether these will hit the market.

According to DigiTimes, the rumour is true. Wistron is planning on releasing some flexible display in 2010, thanks to Polymer Vision. This will likely be used in small e-book readers or things like MIDs. We'll honestly just have to wait and see who'll put this to good use.

Back in September, Wistron bought Polymer Vision [for 12m Euros ($17.75m USD) and it looks like they'll be teaming up to push out the their foldable 5-inch e-paper display. If this is true we'll likely see it in some devices (possibly e-book readers) sometime in 2010 because this year is coming to an end faster than you know it.

This may look similar to the Sony Vaio P, but it is actually very different. First of all, the price range is the $299 to $499 USD mark - take that Sony. The PurseBook also utilizes a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset which should make the PurseBook run quite fast. Wistron's PurseBook will not use Windows, instead it uses Linux, which some consumers may not like, that will "give you a desktop-class web experience, and connect with social networks." Wistron claims that the netbook / MID-looking device is expected to have an 8-hour battery life; it's expected to be released later this year so be on the lookout for it.
