Eldar has just previewed a new handset from Sony Ericsson, the MT15i / Halon / Vivaz 2, but it's pretty clear that it has XPERIA-branding. Fortunately, he mentions that the company has opted to go with Android for the next model instead of the old-school S60 5th Edition OS. The pre-production model that Eldar played with is reportedly thicker and a bit heavier than the original model and it clearly has the natural Sony Ericsson design to it. It looks very similar to their whole XPERIA line-up. The main camera on the back is 8MP and also has an LED flash along with HD video recording; it sports a large front-facing camera as well so it could be more than just mediocre VGA quality.
Moving along, this handset has an HDMI port, a microUSB port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a 1,500mAh battery, Bluetooth / WiFi support, 512MB of RAM, a microSD card slot, Android 2.3 with the company's own skin, and around a 4-inch multitouch display with a 480 x 854 resolution. Inside the company decided to go with Qualcomm's MSM7630 chip clocked at 1GHz along with the Adreno 205 GPU which we should be seeing in a lot of future devices from Sony Ericsson. Take a look at the website below to see more pictures and exactly what Eldar thinks of the upcoming handset. Maybe we'll see it at MWC.
