Pegatron Atom Slate / Tablet and Compal's Android Tablet Get Tested
The Pegatron slate was shown off at Microsoft's CES press conference but Steve Ballmer never said a word about it (and the Asus tablet as well). Well, this tablet is unnamed right now but we do know that it features an 11.6-inch touchscreen display, an Intel Atom CPU, 1GB of RAM, a 32GB SSSD, a front-facing webcam, and an HDMI port. It's built on Windows 7, but it needs some tweaking before it gets launched.
Gizmodo just got their hands-on the Compal tablet. It's a 7-inch tablet that runs Android and is powered by Nvidia's Tegra 2 chipset. Apparently, it's looking good on paper, but doesn't do so well in real life. There's reportedly a software issue, so I'm sure that will be ironed out before it launches.
