Fake HTC Touch Diamond, Onkyo Sotec Media PC, OCZ Neutrino Netbook, Asus Fold / Unfold Laptop
Since Apple's new iMacs were recently released, i figured that i might as well talk about the Onkyo Sotec Media Center PC with a 21.5-inch screen that displays a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution. This all-in-one PC also has decent hardware, including: an Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 2.8GHz processor, up to 4GB or RAM, a 500GB HDD, a TV tuner, a 4x Blu-ray player, a wireless mouse and keyboard, a 1.3MP integrated webcam and even has an iPod dock. Just to top things off the PC comes with a remote, so you can do some media center'ing while laying back on your couch or bed or whatever. Unfortunately, it's actually more expensive than some of the new iMac's. The Onkyo Media Center PC has a base price of 179,000 Yen ($1,900 USD).
OCZ is going to be releasing a netbook, the Neutrino netbook to be specific. The netbook will have a 10.1-inch screen that has a 1,024 x 600 resolution. The hardware includes an Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor, up to 2GB of RAM and a possible 250GB SSD. It also comes with two USB ports, WiFi, a 1.3MP integrated webcam and will ship with the consumer's choice of either Ubuntu or Windows XP. The netbook is expected to be released in the next 2 - 3 months and will be "priced competitively."
Although no specs are available on this Asus concept, i can tell you that it plans to ship in Q3. This fold / unfold laptop was originally a concept, but it looks like it will actually be released. Judging by the picture (and the video, via Engadget), the laptop looks really thin. Currently, there are no specifications listed about the laptop, so if i find them i will get back at you. Again, you can watch the video here. The folding concept seems pretty pointless, but it's cool to a certain extent.

Firefox's 100% Market Share, Pre Going To Lure Away iPhone Users? Google Chrome 2.0, Turn IE8 Off In Windows 7
Roger McNamee, Elevation Partners founder, had some choice words for Apple and their iPhone. He mentions that the Palm Pre will pull some of Apple iPhone's users. He mentioned that people will be able to use Sprint instead of AT&T and that will help lure those iPhone users. "'You know the beautiful thing: June 29, 2009, is the two-year anniversary of the first shipment of the iPhone,' McNamee noted. 'Not one of those people will still be using an iPhone a month later.'" Obviously he is exaggerating and while i do think that the Palm Pre will attract some iPhone users, those dedicated will not make the switch. This is simply because they love Apple. They buy everything made from Apple, including: the iPhone, iPods, MacBooks. While the Palm Pre is the better device solely based on hardware, we'll see if it can step up to the challenge. I think that Apple is timing their next iPhone announcement right before the Pre launches. I think it would be fairly smart of them to do.
Now that Firefox is deciding to skip the release of 3.1, jumping Firefox to 3.5, this triggered something in my brain. Google Chrome's developer edition (2.0). Will it be the edition that will feature add-ons? I don't know, but i can say that this will be my first prediction. My prediction: Google Chrome 2.0 will have add-ons. It makes sense, at least to me. A big new update that will feature add-ons and themes. Seeing how long Google takes to update their stuff, it seems about right. Google Chrome currently has their stable version, their beta version and their developer version. I can't wait for the release of add-ons. You can change your Chrome theme using Xchrome, but the themes are limited and unofficial.
Microsoft has now confirmed that you will be able to turn off practically every "major" feature in Windows 7. With the newest build (7048) you can turn off every major feature, including Internet Explorer 8. Hilarious stuff, that's definitely the first thing i'm taking off. Could this be a sign of Microsoft giving up on their own browser? Hmm, i just thought i'd put it out there. With Firefox now in second place (around 24%) behind the most widely used browser, Internet Explorer 7 (about 40% market share), it's only a matter of time until one browser steps up and prevails against Internet Explorer. Or could Microsoft be teaming up with another browser to make an ultimate browser? Okay, the last point was pretty ridiculous, but maybe Microsoft is really starting to wake up and see that their browser just can't compete anymore.

Samsung Instinct Mini, Twitter Search, Samsung NC20, Green Asus EzLink LCD Monitors
Someone on the Sprint forums has posted pictures of the new Samsung Instinct Mini. It's not confirmed, but it's pretty much what it should look like. It has the Sprint logo and looks like the Instinct. The Instinct Mini is scheduled to be available on April 19, so it's no surprise that images are starting to be leaked out to the public.
Twitter has finally integrated a new search tool to their home page. I guess it wasn't released to all Twitter users at once because i still don't have my search feature up, so i'll be waiting for that. Although i still don't know what Twitter can be used for. I just figured that Canada would soon jump on the Twitter bandwagon and i'd be the first one to adopt it. Although, i do think that Canada will stay clear off it, but just in case y'know.
The Samsung NC20 is being released today, so i thought it'd be good to give a short review about the specs of the laptop. It's got a 12-inch 1,280 x 800 display which is fairly glossy. It's slightly larger than its competition in both the size and weight department. The laptop weighs 3.4 pounds and has a 6-cell battery which is expected to last at least 4 hours. Inside you will find a 1.3GHz VIA Nano processor "found to be at least on par with Intel's Atom, if not slightly faster." This is all accompanied with: up to 2GB of RAM, a 160GB HDD, an integrated 1.3MP webcam and will be running on Windows XP. You get all of this for under $500, so it's a pretty good deal.
At CeBIT Asus has unveiled the so-called Green Asus line. There are 2 montiors (VH192C and VH196) that were unveiled as part of the Green Asus line. The monitors uses "low levels of mercury during construction and just two lamps to save more than 20% in power consumption. An advanced optical film provides brilliant image performance without sacrificing brightness, and the Aspect Control technology delivers a 4:3 aspect ratio or full screen playback for sharp, vibrant and free distortion-free images." Whew, that was a long quote. It looks like Asus is shifting towards taking care of the environment a little bit better. Green is great.
