Nokia and Intel Working On Netbook Slated For Q3 Release?

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Yesterday, Nokia and Intel joined forces, to my surprise. It seems that their first release together could be a netbook and it could be released as soon as Q3 of this year. According to recent reports, Nokia has ordered a few machines from Compal and Quanta - these two companies are basically why netbooks exist today. The netbook will probably run on one of Intel's Atoms either the N270 or N280, since their new wave of Atoms is now expected to hit the market until next year.

Compal has also mentioned that they are working on a Qualcomm Snapdragon-based Nokia smartbook as well, so it looks like Nokia does have some support here, similar to all of the love Android receives. The OS could be Symbian or could it possibly be Maemo?
