Adding Location Feature To Your Signature In Gmail, SMART Multitouch Table, Miro 2.0

Labels: , , , ,

If you use signatures in Gmail, this may be useful to you. I, on the other hand, do not, so this is just for my many few viewers out there. If you go into your Gmail Labs, you may notice a new option called "Location in Signature." This Labs feature will do exactly what it says it will do. If you have signatures, it will display your location (in the signature portion of the e-mail) from where ever you sent the e-mail from. "It'll use your public IP address to determine your location, so it may not always be that accurate." I don't send too many emails nor do i use signatures, so this isn't a big deal to me.

In the midst of the recession, gadgets like this still manage to be released. The SMART Multitouch table is aimed at children. This $8000 USD table comes with 6 applications fresh out of the box. Teachers will be able to customize whatever they need to and will be able to save information on a USB bracelet.

Today marks the first time i've ever heard of Miro. I will be testing it out after this blog post, to see what all of the hype is about. "Miro 2.0 is a desktop video player that also tries to be your video library, as well as a web browser for online video and podcasts." It plays almost every video format and you can also stream from sites like Hulu. You will also be able to download torrents using this software. Me, being a newbie with this software, will probably have read the "Miro Guide." The focus for Miro 2.0 looks like it's the HD video component of it. "You can find a fine selection of HD vidcasts and a podcast directory on Miro's companion site." If there's an HD video you want off YouTube, you can use Miro to download them. Below is a video about Miro.
