24-Inch Samsung SyncMaster FX2490 Monitor Will Do Double Duty For You

Labels: , ,

If you love to use your computer monitor as your TV then here's a great one for you from Samsung. It's got their usual and sexy design and it's a 24-inch SyncMaster FX2490 monitor. Specs include: an integrated TV tuner, two HDMI ports, a D-Sub, SCART for Europe, a 1,920 x 1,080 (Full HD) resolution, a 5ms response time, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, and 250 nits of brightness. If you're looking out for this one then you could see it in stores by the end of this month in US and Europe for around $540. I'm actually thinking of purchasing this one when / if it hits Canada.

Samsung Serves Up SyncMaster 80 Series On a Telescoping Mount

Labels: , , , , ,

Ever wanted a real secondary display for your netbook? Well, thanks to the telescoping mount on Samsung's new SyncMaster 80 Series, you can place one over your netbook - instead of at the side. Two LCD displays are going to be available later this month, a 20 (F2080) and a 23-inch (F2380) model. Both of these displays will have an underwhelming 3,000:1 contrast ratio, a 178-degree viewing angle, a 15mm bezel, and they almost cover 100% of the "RGB color space."

If you take a look at the picture below, you can see that the display can also be rotated vertically if you like. The F2080 and F2380 displays will be available later this month in Korea for 378,000 won ($287 USD) and 457,000 won ($347 USD), respectively.

Samsung SyncMaster 70-Series Going Green

Labels: , ,

Samsung is really putting their foot forward and going green. The Samsung SyncMaster 70 series has just been announced and will be available in you choice of either 20 or 23-inches. The monitor will have a 50,000:1 contrast ratio, a 2ms response time, will consume 33% less energy, and looks (to me) like it has a 16:9 aspect ratio - but don't quote me on that. So far there has been no word on its resolution, price or availability, but it does look really sexy to me. What do you think?
