It's about time. The Archos 9 tablet PC has just been updated and now features an Intel Atom Z515 1.2GHz CPU. It still seems like it's a bit too slow, but you'll have to deal with it if you're willing to pay $549.99 (here) for it. The resistive touchscreen is still a let down and those specs haven't changed. Check out the review before you spend your money!

Believe it or not but this is Intel Atom's 1st birthday! It was an amazing year for Intel as they continue to dominate the netbook CPU war. The current Atom N280 runs 1.66GHz and the new Intel Atom Z550 is rocking 2GHz of speed. The new Atom Z550 has Hyperthreading support and runs on just 3W of power. Along with the Atom Z550 is the Atom Z515 which is a 1.2GHz CPU and will be mainly used for MIDs. We should see the Z515 soon, but we'll see when the 2GHz Atom Z550 gets its first release.
