11.6-Inch Pegatron MasterPad Prototype Tablet Runs Windows 7 and Has SSD Options
With all the buzz about Android tablets and the iPad lately, Steve Ballmer must be happy with the Pegatron MasterPad tablet prototype. This tablet sports an 11.6-inch IPS touchscreen display (1,366 x 768 resolution), a 1.3MP webcam, a microphone, two USB ports, a memory card reader, a miniHDMI port, 3G connectivity, 32GB / 64GB SSD options, an Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz CPU, a 2-cell battery that will unfortunately only last 5 hours, and Windows 7. Of course, it's only in prototype stage right now, but I don't think that Windows 7 would be a viable tablet OS. Maybe Windows 8 will be but Windows 7 needs a custom UI or else it'll be tough to use. Anyways, you can click on through to Engadget to check out the video of the MasterPad in action.
