With all the buzz about Android tablets and the
iPad lately, Steve Ballmer must be happy with the Pegatron MasterPad tablet prototype. This tablet sports an 11.6-inch IPS touchscreen display (1,366 x 768 resolution), a 1.3MP webcam, a microphone, two USB ports, a memory card reader, a miniHDMI port, 3G connectivity, 32GB / 64GB SSD options, an Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz CPU, a 2-cell battery that will unfortunately only last 5 hours, and Windows 7. Of course, it's only in prototype stage right now, but I don't think that Windows 7 would be a viable tablet OS. Maybe Windows 8 will be but Windows 7 needs a custom UI or else it'll be tough to use.
