Lenovo Announces the Skylight Smartbook, $500 Unsubsidized

Labels: , , , , ,

We've seen this smartbook before. This has just been made official and it's the Lenovo Skylight, which is their first smartbook. If the old rumours are true then this will be hitting AT&T sometime this year. It has an odd design, very un-Lenovo-like since I picture them more of the business type. All that said, this smartbook comes equipped with a 10-inch display, a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, 20GB of internal storage, 2GB of online storage, a Linux OS, and a battery life that should last about 10 hours in the real world.

Unfortunately, they're planning on launching this smartbook for a whopping $500 (shades of the Nokia Booklet 3G), which is definitely pricey. But, like I said, it'll likely hit AT&T subsidized so you're likely looking at $199 on a 2-year contract. Of course, you'll be able to use AT&T's 3G network.
