Is Twitter Being Overexposed By the Media?

After seeing this on Crunch Gear, that's what I asked myself. Basically, Fox put a Twitter feed on the bottom of the screen during a show called Fringe. Most people ended up complaining and I don't see why not. Why would you ruin a TV show by putting a Twitter feed on the bottom of the screen? Maybe in the future we'll be able to make this kind of thing optional with TVs with Internet built-in. Twitter gets a lot of positive media and I hope that they don't get overexposed by the media.
