HP Slate To Launch For $549? Specs Compared To the iPad
This new chart (above) clearly shows off the differences between the HP Slate and the Apple iPad. The chart is pretty self-explanatory, and it spills out all of the specs of the HP Slate. It's rumoured to be launching at $549, so it's only the 16GB WiFi-only iPad that can compete with the price. The $549 model will reportedly feature an Intel Atom Z530 1.6GHz CPU, integrated Intel UMA graphics, 32GB of flash storage, 1GB of RAM, an SDHC card slot, a USB 2.0 port, two cameras (front-facing and on the back), a SIM card slot, audio jacks, an HDMI output, and a 5-hour battery life. The more expensive $599 model will feature 64GB of flash storage. Now that we know the specs let's see how it works in the real world.

It's been unofficially confirmed that Project Pink will be making a debut at Microsoft's event on April 12th next week. Both the Pure and the Tutrtle will be at the show and it's believed that these handsets will be launching on Verizon "within the month." The OS isn't known right now, but they're saying that it'll definitely have social integration and could be kind of like an intro to the upcoming Windows Phone 7 mobile OS.
