OnLive Now Starting Their Beta Program
OnLive beta hopefuls should ready some "general information about your ISP, your computer configuration and your location" so that the company can determine your worthiness as a beta tester. You'll also be asked to run a "performance test" to doubly verify your beta usefulness.

Nokia X3 and X6 Officially Announced, X6 Confirmed to Have Capacitive Touchscreen!
I believe the Nokia X6 is the "Alvin" that we saw pass the FCC two days ago. The Nokia X6 is the high-end handset of the two and has: a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display with a 16:9 aspect ratio, a 5MP camera, 32GB of internal storage, Lifecasting (check out what that is here), Ovi Store integration, S60 5th Edition, and a battery long enough to last 16 days of standby time / 35 hours of music playback. The X6 will be available in Q4 of this year for €459 ($654 USD).
We don't know when this will hit the US, but in the meantime, you can check out the Pocket-Lint link here and Fone Arena link here for a couple more photos. The Nokia X3 hands-on video is below; underneath is the hands-on video for the Nokia X6.

This new video has just been found and it's the BlackBerry 9700 with its optical trackpad. The BlackBerry 9700, codenamed Onyx, will be the direct successor to the original Bold.
Update: The video has been pulled off of YouTube. I'll try to get a working link ASAP.
Update: I believe the video above is now working, tell me if it stops working though.

Sony Announces 3 New HDTVs and Confirms 3D Bravia By the End of 2010; 3D Blu-Ray on the Way
Along with this news, the Blu-ray Disc Association is still working on their 3D technology, so that they can implement it into their discs. These discs will be capable of running on older Blu-ray players, but it will be projected in just 2D. Fortunately, they're now working on backwards-compatibility for discs and players. We'll see how this plays out.

Happy Birthday Google Chrome, Extensions Soon -- Hopefully
Google Chrome's birthday is today and that means I've been using it for a whole year already. Since the first release I have stuck with Google Chrome because it's just overwhelmingly fast. When I test out another browser I just get impatient all the time. Anyways, Google Chrome has been through a lot in their first year and I actually couldn't believe that it's already been a year. Google has mentioned that extensions are still on the way and they're starting to make some right now, which is definitely great news. Below is a bit of what Chrome has gone though.
- 51 developer releases, 21 beta releases or updates, and 15 stable releases or updates
- Over 20,600 bugs filed (4367 of them were duplicates, 3505 have been fixed, which leaves a whole lot left to go!)
- 11 external contributors and bug editors
- 50 Chrome Experiments
- 26 posts on the Google Chrome blog
- 12 Chrome Shorts, a collection of short films about Google Chrome
- A sequel to the comic in Japanese

Sony Announces VAIO X Laptop Made of Carbon Fiber, 0.5-Inches Thin, 1.5 Pounds -- Definitely Overpriced
Update: Engadget just got their hands-on with the X-Series ultraportable. So at this point the Atom CPU is still undecided at the moment. This notebook has: two USB 2.0 ports, an SD/Memory Stick card slot, and VGA output. The price is said to be below $2,000 USD, so it'll be expensive nonetheless.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 Now Official, Rocking OLED Display, 8.1MP Camera and WinMo 6.5
Update: Engadget got their first hands-on with this device. They've mentioned that it has a flashy / gimmicky home screen and they dislike the resistive touchscreen. Below is Engadget Mobile's hands-on video.
Update: WMPowerUser has just found out that the XPERIA X2 will be exclusive to Vodafone in the UK for a little while. The release is also pegged for "early Q4 2009" which probably means shortly after WinMo 6.5 / Windows Phone get officially released on October 6th.

Chrome OS To Only Allow Google Programs? Google Wave Hitting Some Schools / App Users This Month; Chrome Hitting PS3 and PSP?
I hope you haven't forgot about Google Wave since it plans to hit 100,000 users by the end of this month - on September 30th to be exact. Today, Google "announced that along with the public preview, Google plans to integrate Wave into some businesses and schools Google Apps accounts." We'll see who gets lucky enough to test it out this month.
I don't believe this rumour has any steam behind it, but it states that Google Chrome could be coming to both the PlayStation 3 and the PSP. This rumour was probably fueled by the Sony and Google deal we heard about yesterday, the one where Sony's Vaios will have Google Chrome as the default browser. All we can do is wait and see, but I think this is doubtful at the time.

NEC Announces Eco-Friendly 19-Inch MultiSync EA190M LCD Monitor
This monitor should suck an average of 50% less energy and also contains 50% less mercury "than traditional LCD monitors." The EA190M has a "one-touch ECO mode that allows users the ability to quickly maneuver between two energy saving modes." Clearly, this monitor is somewhat eco-friendly, which is not a bad thing to have. This monitor is expected to ship by the end of this month and it should be available for $259 USD.
