Asus' CEO Says They're Working On a 3D Tablet, MeeGo and Android Netbooks and WP7 For 2012

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , ,

Asus has just announced something that sounds pretty darn great. Apparently, the CEO, Jerry Shen, has mentioned that they're working on a few products. They include: a 3D tablet, MeeGo and Android Atom powered netbooks, and even a Windows Phone 7 handset which actually won't hit the market until 2012. Nothing else has been mentioned but it would be surprising for the 3D tablet not to run Android so you can get excited if you don't want the LG G-Slate / Optimus Pad.

Nokia N9 To Launch Next Month With 1.2GHz Atom CPU and MeeGo?

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Nokia is in pretty big trouble when it comes to their global phone market share because Samsung (with the help of Android) and Apple are catching up. Of course, their Symbian market share is dropping as well, because of Android and iOS. They're going to have to do something quite drastic.

Coming from Prosessori is word that the Nokia N9 will be launching with an Intel Atom 1.2GHz CPU and could also be running the MeeGo OS which is much better than any Symbian OS that has been conjured up to this date. Specs are unconfirmed right now but it'll definitely have a slide-out QWERTY keyboard along with a great camera on the back. Let's hope this one gets unveiled around MWC which takes place next month. It could be Nokia's saviour.

Specs include a 10.1-inch display, an Intel Atom "Oak Trail" Z670 CPU, 2GB of RAM, dual-cameras, and Windows 7. Details other than this are pretty scarce right now so we'll have to wait until Fujitsu announces more. This tablet will reportedly be available in Q2 of this year but the price is still unknown right now.

The company is said to also be working on an Android "Honeycomb" tablet but we don't know what it will look like right now.

NFS N-Pad Tablet Gets Spotted At IDF, Android With Atom Z6xx Moorestown CPU

Labels: , , , , , , ,

IDF, like the other events that were held earlier this year, showcased a bunch of tablets and some of them were pretty unique. CarryPad spotted the tablet you see above at IDF 2010. While it may not be as interesting as the Dell Inspiron Duo, it's still something that you might want to take a look at. Dubbed the N-Pad by NFS, this tablet is running a next-gen Atom Z6xx CPU - part of the Moorestown line-up - and it's running an Android build. Sadly, that's all we know about it thus far and this may or may not be hitting the market so don't be surprised if it's not under your Christmas tree this year. There's a video below if you want to check it out.

MSI's Windows 7 Tablet Delayed Until 2011 Because Of Oak Trail, Wind Pad 110 With Android Will Launch This Year

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

MSI has just announced some tablet news right before things kick off at IFA in September. First up is that their Windows 7 based tablet will actually be delayed until 2011 because they're waiting for Intel to release their Oak Trail Atom line-up at CES 2011. The company mentioned that the current Atom CPUs don't give tablets much battery life and the Oak Trail CPUs can handle Windows 7 a lot better (regarding performance and battery life). Don't worry though. For you Android lovers out there, MSI will be releasing their Tegra 2 packing Android 2.2 tablet later this year, the Wind Pad 110. Yes, it'll have access to an app store.
