BlackBerry Tour Shows Up On Verizon's Rebate Form
Verizon has just confirmed what we already know. The BlackBerry Tour is coming out on Verizon and that it will be available in between June 28 and August 1st, since that's how long this Rebate Form is valid for. Canada is reportedly getting the Tour on July 15, thanks to Telus, so the Verizon release date should be around the same date. Just wait for it!

Samsung and LG Working On Snapdragon-Based Smartphone
We already know that the Toshiba TG01 is running on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 1GHz CPU, but what if we could implement that in more and more phones? We all know faster is better. According to the latest reports, Samsung and LG will be using a Snapdragon CPU in one of their mobile smartphones. In related news, a Taiwanese company is also looking at creating a Snapdragon-based smartbook.
The 1GHz Snapdragon CPU is already going to be used in the Toshiba TG01 and the Acer F1, but Samsung and LG's own smartphone could surface for a Q4 release date in Korea. There's no word on if it will be launched anywhere else in the world, so we'll just have to wait and see. I'm certainly excited for Samsung's offering because I'm not much of an LG fan.

HP Mini 5101 Netbook Is Pretty Sexy All-Around
After going to Future Shop and seeing how small the display on a 10-inch netbook was, I came to the conclusion that it's just too small for my liking. The smallest laptop I could handle is a 12-inch - it really makes a big difference. I think that HP should've just extended the display a little bit more because there's just so much bezel on this netbook, but I guess they just wanted to do it this way.
The Mini 5101 will start at $449 USD, but the price could rack up as you pick and choose your options. This netbook will be on sale next month.

Nokia and Intel Working On Netbook Slated For Q3 Release?
Compal has also mentioned that they are working on a Qualcomm Snapdragon-based Nokia smartbook as well, so it looks like Nokia does have some support here, similar to all of the love Android receives. The OS could be Symbian or could it possibly be Maemo?

HTC Hero Now Official, and it Just Makes "Sense"
Now let's get right down to the specs of the HTC Hero. So it has: a 3.2-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen display, a 5MP AF camera, a Qualcomm MSM7200A 528MHz CPU, quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE / dual-band 7.2Mbps HSPA/WCDMA, 512MB of ROM, 288MB of RAM, a gravity sensor, a digital compass, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR / A2DP, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a microSD slot, and will run on Android alongside the HTC Sense UI. That wasn't enough? It will also have flash support. Oh, and don't forget the chin.
The Hero will be available next month in Europe, later in the Summer in Asia, and us North Americans will have to wait for a launch later this year. In Europe, the HTC Hero will be available on Orange UK and it will be as low as £0 on a contract this July. Talk about cheap.
Update: I forgot to mention that the touchscreen display it multitouch.
Update (#2): Take a look at the demo below, courtesy of Crunch Gear.
Update (#3): T-Mobile will release the HTC Hero exclusively as the G1 Touch and it will be the black model, according to Tech Radar. Orange will be getting a "graphite" colour, so who gets the white model? Or is the white model, "graphite"? Confusing stuff. The G1 Touch will be available on T-Mobile this July as a part of T-Mobile's unique Flext 40 price plan.
