Bell and Telus To Get the BlackBerry 9670 "Style" In November?

Labels: , , , , , ,

There's a new rumour going around that has started thanks to Mobile Syrup. One of their tipsters has just mentioned that the BlackBerry 9670 Style flip smartphone could be hitting Bell and Telus' CDMA networks sometime in the first week of November. While this is great news it's pretty sad to see that this smartphone will have CDMA connectivity instead of the faster HSPA.

Anyways, the 9670 Style smartphone features a QWERTY keyboard, a 5MP AF camera with an LED flash, WiFi / Bluetooth support, a microSD card slot, and BB OS 6.0.

At Least One Person Helped With the Acer M900 WP7 Phone, Says Linkedin

Labels: , , ,

Spotted on Linkedin, someone has reportedly been working on a WP7 device currently being made by Acer. The program is said to be the M900 and could be sporting a slide-out QWERTY keyboard of some kind. This is weird to me because the company already release the Acer M900 but it was sporting the old school WinMo 6.1. It could be a mistake or something but let's just hope that Acer does have a WP7 smartphone in the works.

LG's WiMAX-Capable Windows Phone 7 Smartphone Leaks In Blurry Picture? Headed To Sprint

Labels: , , , , ,

Well, the picture above is just about the blurriest picture that I've ever seen of a phone leaking out. Apparently, the smartphone pictured is made by LG and will be hitting Sprint with WiMAX connectivity. The device seems to be quite large so maybe it'll be a good look for the company. Last, but not least, it could also be running on the Windows Phone 7 OS.

HTC Announces the Desire Z and the Desire HD, Both With Android 2.2 and the New Sense UI

Labels: , , , , , , , , ,

Today, HTC has announced two Android smartphones set for a release in Europe / Asia - and maybe even Canada if we're lucky enough. The first one is the T-Mobile G2 variant for people who don't live in the US, the Desire Z. The HTC Desire Z packs the exact same spec sheet as the G2, so you'll find the new Qualcomm 800MHz CPU, HSPA+ connectivity, and Android 2.2. The difference between the G2 and the Desire Z is that this smartphone clearly sports the Sense UI while the G2 does not. This will be available in Europe / Asia sometime in October and will also be hitting North America (Canada?) sometime later in 2010.

The other smartphone that the company has announced is the Desire HD which also comes with Android 2.2 along with the Sense UI. Specs include a 4.3-inch LCD display, a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, an 8MP camera with a dual-LED flash and 720p HD video recording, HSPA+ connectivity, WiFi 802.11n support, and Dolby Mobile. This is basically the EVO for Europe / Asia and maybe even Canada if we're lucky. It'll be hitting Europe / Asia sometime in October as well.

HTC's Android 3.0 "Gingerbread" Tablet Hitting the Market In Early 2011?

Labels: , , , , , ,

Sooner or later HTC will make an Android tablet and the latest rumour going around states that it could be hitting the market in early 2011. According to DigiTimes, said tablet will be sporting Android 3.0 "Gingerbread" along with 3G connectivity because it'll be subsidized with a carrier. You never know, if it launches in Q1 2011 it could have some HSPA+ connectivity as well. Specs are, of course, unknown since it is still very early - and just a rumour. Apparently though, it could have 1080p HD video recording along with 5.1-channel surround sound. Who knows what else this tablet will feature if these rumoured specs turn out to be true. The only thing I'm hoping for is that it's worth the price.
