Labels: , , ,

So much for that rumour. Acer has officially mentioned that they will not show off any devices running on Google's Chrome OS at Computex this June (a couple of weeks from now). Looks like we'll have to wait a couple of months for Chrome OS devices to be shown off. On a side note, I'm sure we'll see a bunch of devices with the Android OS on it at Computex.

Sony PSP2 To Feature a Touchscreen, Physical Buttons, and Two Cameras; Set For 2011 Release?

Labels: , , , , ,

Although it's not what is pictured above, there are new rumours for the next-generation PSP. Apparently, the PSP2 is going to feature a touchscreen display, two cameras (front and back), WiFi, "trademark physical PlayStation buttons" (I hope that means two thumb sticks), and possibly 3G. Apparently, there are already "finished units" floating around in the UK and games are being made in Britain right now. The PSP2 is said to be "fucking powerful" and it's based on a four-core Cell CPU (for comparison's sake, the PS3 has an eight-core Cell CPU).

Although Sony was hoping to get the PSP2 out this year, it's now scheduled for a 2011 release. Some games will likely be teased before the year ends though. Sadly, there's a "99 percent" chance that this won't be revealed at E3 - they're likely saving it for TGS.

Possible Nintendo 3DS Prototype Hits the FCC, Almost Slips Under Everyone's Radar

Labels: , , , , , , ,

At the FCC (filing here) this morning something very interesting was spotted. The filing is actually dated April 30th so this has actually been around for a while. This ATX motherboard could actually be a prototype for a Nintendo 3DS! Apparently, the 16:9 aspect ratio matches the 3.4-inch Parallax 3D displays from Sharp so Nintendo could be testing out the gaming handheld as we speak where ever they are. The prototype is being dubbed the "CTR" so keep an eye out for that naming. Sadly, the FCC images have been pulled so they were definitely hoping someone would find these.

Of course, these handsets are nothing new - except for the colours - so when will they get the Pearl 3G (9100).

T-Mobile's Project Emerald To Be the Sidekick Twist With Unbelievable Spec Sheet?

Labels: , , , ,

The latest rumour states that T-Mobile's Project Emerald will have absolutely nothing to do with bringing the HTC Desire or the Samsung Galaxy S (even though we know that they'll get it) to the US. We already know that Canada will be getting the Desire as the Triumph thanks to Telus, but what about the US? Apparently, they'll be getting an HTC handset that T-Mobile will launch as the Sidekick Twist.

This "Sidekick Twist" is expected to feature a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display, 16GB of internal storage, a 1GHz CPU (possibly Snapdragon), a front-facing camera, a physical QWERTY keyboard, and Android 2.1. These specs definitely seem blown out of proportion, especially for an Android-based Sidekick that should be targeted at teens. It seems unbelievable so take it with a grain of salt.

Microsoft's Project Natal To Cost $200? - Probably Not

Labels: , , ,

There's a new rumour going around that Microsoft's upcoming Project Natal will be priced around $200 thanks to some retailer in Scandinavia. As you can see in the picture above it's priced at 1,499 kr which is around $191 USD. I highly doubt that Microsoft is planning to make this so expensive, but you never know with this full body motion-sensing gadget. Of course, foreign prices are usually much higher than what the US actually gets them for so here's to hoping that it'll be priced under $100.
