LG X20 Netbook Spotted at the FCC, Should Launch This Month as the X200

Labels: , ,

It looks like a new netbook has just been spotted at the FCC (here) and it's reportedly the LG X20. It looks a lot like the LG X200 that we saw about a month ago so it will likely be released as that. The specs for this netbook include a 10.1-inch display with a 1,366 x 768 resolution, an Intel Atom 1.66GHz N450 CPU, 1GB / 2GB of RAM, a 250GB / 320GB HDD, WiFi / Bluetooth support, an integrated 1.3MP webcam, a multitouch trackpad, and 4 / 6-cell battery options. This netbook should be available sometime this month if it stays on schedule.

Verizon's Motorola Devour To Come With Flash Support!

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Well, it looks like Motorola Devour is shaping up to be an alright device. We've just heard that the Devour will actually have Flash Lite aboard which is likely version 3.1. There's really not much left to say since we already know the complete spec sheet for this handset - it leaked out yesterday.

15.6-Inch HP G62t Notebook Looks Like a MacBook Pro, But Costs Just $699

Labels: , , , , , ,

Looking a bit like the Envy line-up (and the Apple MacBook Pro line-up), HP has revealed the new G62t notebook. This notebook will feature a 15.6-inch LED-backlit display, Intel Core i3 / i5 / i7 CPU options, 3GB of RAM, a 160GB HDD, and a DVD burner / Blu-ray optical drive. The thing that does suck in this notebook is the integrated Intel graphics which actually can't be upgraded. But hey, it starts at just $699 so it's definitely not a bad deal. Check it out here.

LG Rumoured To Launch Two Android Handsets On Verizon Soon

Labels: , , ,

To be honest I don't post a lot of these "shot in the dark" rumours that come out of nowhere, but it's a slow news day so bare with me. Apparently, LG is looking to launch two Android handsets on Verizon later this year. One is said to be packing a QWERTY keyboard (like the enV Touch pictured above) and the other one is said to be similar to the current Droid Eris. We don't know the specs of either handset right now but I'm assuming that the Motorola DROID will still be the king of Android over there until the Nexus One launches.

ZTE F350 To Hit Verizon; Specs, Release Date, and Price Unknown

Labels: , , ,

Verizon is one of the few carriers in the US who give the small companies a shot at launching a handset. Their first phone by ZTE will be what you see above, the F350. We don't have the full spec sheet for this phone yet but we do know that it features a camera, and Bluetooth support. We don't know what OS is right now so I guess we'll have to wait and see. The price and the exact release date are still TBA.

BenQ Reveals Two 15.6-Inch Monitors With 5,000,000:1 [Dynamic] Contrast Ratio

Labels: ,

BenQ has just unveiled two new displays with a very high contrast ratio. It's just too bad that they're so darn small. The BenQ G610HDAL and G610HDPL are both 15.6-inch monitors that feature a 1,366 x 768 resolution, a 5,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, and 250 nits of brightness and 220 nits of brightness, respectively. That's because the HDAL sports a glossy display and the HDPL sports an anti-glare one. Both of these monitors feature their own respectful "Eco" mode and they should be available in Latin America and the Middle East fairly soon.

Samsung Introduces T139 Flip Phone, Possibly Headed To T-Mobile

Labels: , , ,

Ahh, another dumbphone from Samsung and it's a flipper. The Samsung "Mayon" T139's information was just spotted on their own website. There's nothing impressive about this flip phone but you will find a VGA camera, Bluetooth / aGPS support, and a speakerphone on-board. We don't know which carrier - if any - will launch this but it could find a home on T-Mobile's network.

Samsung Unveils Their First Android 2.1 Handset, the M100S

Labels: , , , , , ,

It's nearing MWC and it looks like Samsung has just revealed yet another Android handset, but this one we'll be their first one running Android 2.1. The Samsung SHW-M100S will feature a 3.7-inch WVGA touchscreen display, a 5MP camera with 720p video recording capabilities, a 3.5mm headphone jack, WiFi b/g/n, a T-DMB tuner, and the TouchWiz UI. This handset will be launching on SK Telecom (in South Korea) sometime in March. We don't know if this handset will show up anywhere outside of Asia, but I'm guessing that everyone else will get a variant of this phone. MWC couldn't come any sooner.

Update: Electronista squeezed a little bit more information on this handset. The display will be AMOLED and it has an 800MHz CPU which could be the same ARM11 CPU that's found in the Samsung Moment. If you look at the picture below it looks like they could've made the phone a bit shorter or extended the screen a bit more.

Samsung Launching First Bada Phone In Late March / Early April

Labels: , , ,

We already know that Samsung will be showing off their mobile OS, Bada, at MWC in a couple of days. We're now hearing that Samsung is targeting a late March / early April launch for their first Bada handset. We don't know what the phone looks like at the moment, but the spec sheet should mirror Google's Nexus One.

Lenovo ThinkPad T410i, T410si, and T510i Coming This Month, Equipped With Core i3-330M

Labels: , , , ,

Lenovo has renamed their ThinkPad line-up and put an "i" at the end of some of their T Series of notebooks. Of course, this "i" stands for all of them rocking Core i3-330M CPUs that are clocked at 2.13GHz. The ThinkPad T410i, T410si, and T510i will be available by the end of this month. Unfortunately, the price wasn't mentioned.

T-Mobile Dark Project To Be the Launch of the HTC HD2 and the Motorola Zeppelin?

Labels: , , , , , , ,

We've heard whispers about a T-Mobile Dark Project lately, so what could this be? Well, there's some new rumours going around that it'll be the launch of the HTC HD2 and the Motorola Zeppelin. The employees for T-Mobile are expected to start their training calendars on February 17th for the HD2. This is great news and could mean that the launch would be coming for both handsets on or around March 10th.

Vodafone UK Launching the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 This April!

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Earlier this year we found out that Vodafone UK dropped the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2. Well, they have just mentioned that they will be launching the XPERIA X10 in April - according to their website. This handset will be Sony Ericsson's first Android phone and is a really impressive one. The only thing that's not up to par is the version 1.6 Android on there. It doesn't really matter though since SE actually customized the whole UI with their Timescape and Mediascape.

Nokia Announces 6303i, Another Cheap Entry-Level Candybar Handset

Pegatron To Help Manufacture Next-Gen iPhone, Bringing 720p Video Recording

Labels: , , ,

Yesterday we found out the internal codename for the next-gen iPhone and it looks like Apple's looking to Pegatron to manufacturer the next iPhone too. Along with this news, the iPhone could be picking up some 720p video recording capabilities as well. This isn't all that surprising since this is supposed to be an A+ upgrade, but it's definitely good news.

Windows Mobile 6.5.3 Details Emerge, Multitouch!!

Labels: , , , , ,

It looks like some of the highlight of the upcoming Windows Mobile 6.5.3 have just been published somewhere. The most exciting feature (at least I think it is) is the inclusion of multitouch. The full list is below so you can briefly skim through that.

  • Platform to enable multitouch
  • Touch controls throughout system (no need for stylus)
  • Consistent Navigation
  • Horizontal scroll bar replaces tabs (think settings>system>about screen)
  • Magnifier to bring touch support to legacy applications
  • Simplified out-of-box experience with fewer steps
  • Drag and drop icons on Start Screen
  • Browser page load time decreased and memory management improved
  • Browser pan & flick gestures smoothed and zoom & rotation speed increased
  • Updated runtime tools (.NET CF 3.5, SQL CE 3.1)
  • Arabic read/write document support
  • Watson (error reporting) improvements and bug fixes

No doubt we'll see more of Windows Mobile 6.5.3 at MWC in under two weeks. We'll also see more phones running it, not just the Sony Ericsson Faith Aspen.
