Nokia N97 Mini Possibly Spotted at the FCC

Labels: , , , ,

An incomplete FCC filing has just outlined what appears to be the Nokia N97 Mini. At the time, this handset has been unconfirmed to be the N97 Mini, so we'll just have to wait until more information pops up. I believe that it is the N97 Mini though. It's got a camera in the same location as the N97, but this time without the camera lens cover. We'll definitely see an announcement at this year's Nokia World.

Labels: , , , ,

If you're interested in the overpriced Orange LG GD910 watch phone, you should know that it is going to hit London on August 27 for £500 ($827 USD). This is much cheaper than when it initially launched two weeks ago, so that's a good sign. It's still quite expensive, but hey, it's revolutionary.

This SIP compatible platform delivers a highly attractive and intuitive user interface on an eight-inch color touchscreen, plus Outlook integration for tap-to-dial, Bluetooth for answering cell calls on your desk phone, voice dialing, HD speakerphone, and interfaces to popular CRM programs such as Salesforce.com. IT managers and partners can add additional features via Glass’s open API.
“Glass makes the desk phone relevant again,” said David McMorrow, Cloud Telecomputers CEO. “It thoughtfully integrates business applications with IP telephony to bring the office phone into the 21st century. “I love this phone. It’s like having a smartphone on my desk.” - Ed Zander, former CEO of Motorola
Partner-friendly licensing and smart technology
Cloud Telecomputers developed Glass to enable its partners to deliver a unique business user experience. Glass’s open API and Android development environment enable SIP phone and IP PBX manufacturers, service providers, and third parties to add applications and create their own unique presence in the market.
“Our approach allows us to focus on innovation, continually increasing the functionality of the Glass platform, while our partners concentrate their resources on branding, selling and tailoring applications for vertical markets. Our concept of centralized R&D, spread across multiple partners worldwide, allows us to deliver much more capability for less cost to our partners,” said Ravin Suri, Cloud Telecomputers CTO.
The Glass platform also integrates proven and popular technologies such as Bluetooth, HD audio, and AudioCodes SIP technology, to ensure that Glass delivers the high degree of quality and usability expected by businesses.
Cloud Telecomputers is completing certification of its Glass platform to be compatible with telecom’s leading phone IP PBX systems such as Asterisk & Trixbox, and Hosted VoIP systems from BroadSoft and MetaSwitch.
Available Q1 2010

Partners can begin developing applications and tailoring Glass to the needs of their specific target markets now. The company anticipates Glass-enabled phones being available in first quarter 2010, with suggested retail prices ranging from $599 to $699, depending on features and configuration.

New iTunes 9 "Early Beta" Photos Show Off Social Integration

Labels: ,

I'm sure you've already heard about the iTunes 9 rumours. You know, the whole Blu-ray and social integration. Everyday we're just hearing more and more news about the whole thing. Apparently, these photos were just snapped of a recent iTunes 9 "early beta."

The first notable feature depicted in the new shots is the Facebook integration. The images show the ability to create a new playlist and then share it on Facebook. The Facebook entry that subsequently appears on the user’s FB wall will include an iTunes link, presumably pointing to the shared playlist found on an iTunes page. Up next… How about some third-party device support? Yeah, very un-Apple but maybe Jobs & Co. have decided to turn over a new leaf.

Make sure not to miss Apple's event on September 9th that should go through all of this information. We don't know how legit these pictures are, but you can check out the link below for a couple more pictures.

Intel's Pine Trail Atoms Delayed Until Next Year... Again!?

Labels: , , ,

This whole back and forth game Intel is playing is definitely making me confused. According to the latest rumours, Intel's Pine Trail Atom line-up is confirmed to be dealyed until next year. Apparently, they're going to show it off during CES 2010, which means we'll see netbooks with it shortly after that. Looks like that Pine Trail-packed MSI tablet / netbook hybrid will be delayed until next year.

Samsung to Increase Market Share to 20% By the End of the Year

Labels:

According to the latest statistics and educated guesses, Samsung could push even closer to Nokia. The stats are saying that Samsung currently has a 19.2% market share, but by the end of the year that could increase to 20.3%. It's not a huge growth, but it's better than nothing. I love Samsung and I'd choose their phones over anyone else's at the moment. I'm hoping to get my hands on the Samsung i8910 Omnia HD by the end of the month.

Labels: , , , ,

According to some educated guesses, someone is predicting that Apple will sell 50 million iPhone's by fiscal year 2011 and 82.1 million iPhone's by 2012. Along with these predictions, courtesy of Mike Abramsky, an analyst with RBC Capital Markets, he also said that Apple could have up to 16.3% of the smartphone market share. Incredible. You can check out both links below to read up on more information. And no, I don't have an iPhone.

HTC Hero Firmware Getting Updated; Pink HTC Hero Pictured Out of the Box

Labels: , , ,

It's not available yet, but the HTC Hero is getting an update soon to fix the lag issues. I don't know if it's HTC's Sense UI that is causing the lag, but I do know that it's sexy. Thankfully enough, if the HTC Hero hits the US - on Sprint - then it'll have the firmware upgrade pre-installed.

Below are two pictures of the pink HTC Hero beside the white model. I'm not into the whole pink colour, but maybe some girls out there will like it - or other guys.

Will PS2 Backwards Compatibility Ever Come to the PS2? Let's Hope

Labels: , , , ,

Just because the PS3 Slim that was shown off two days ago isn't backwards-compatible with PS2 games doesn't mean it will never come back. Actually, Sony's director of hardware, John Koller, said, "It's not coming back, so let me put that on the table." Yes, even though he said, people out there - like me - are still hoping that the PS3 will be backwards-compatible again one day.

In December 2008, Sony filed a patent for PS Emulation on the Cell processor and people believe that it will eventually come back. Maybe it will be in the rumoured 150GB / 250GB HDD equipped PS3 Slims. According to another rumour, backwards-compatibility could be made available via a download. Both rumours are still unconfirmed and could just be desperation at this point. I'm crossing my fingers that it comes back though.

Samsung Omnia I8000 Omnia II Hitting Germany In October With WinMo 6.5; Samsung B7610 Omnia Pro Hitting Germany Mid-September

Labels: , , , , , ,

Two exciting handsets are going to be hitting Germany in the near future. The Samsung I8000 Omnia II looks like it is ready to hit Germany this October. This smartphone will be available unlocked for €649 ($924 USD) and on T-Mobile's network for an undisclosed price. The best part is that WinMo 6.5 will be pre-installed on this smartphone.

The other handset that is headed to Germany is the B7610 Omnia Pro. This handset will be hitting Germany in mid-September - a bit earlier than the I8000 Omnia II. This handset will be pre-loaded with WinMo 6.1 unfortunately, but it will be available unlocked for €499 ($711 USD) as well. If you don't want to get it unlocked, don't worry because it will be subsidized on both Vodafone and E-Plus.

Today's the Last Day To Download the Windows 7 RC Off Of Microsoft

Labels: , , ,

As a reminder, today is the last day that you can download the Windows 7 RC off of Microsoft's official website. Keep in mind, that Microsoft will still supply product keys after today, so there's no need to worry. The RC will begin its shut-down-every-two-hours routine starting on March 1, 2010; the RC will expire on June 1, 2010. You can always download the Windows 7 RTM if you want to take the illegal route, but you didn't hear that from me.
