If you live in Europe then it's quite likely that you'll be able to pre-order the Nexus S smartphone right now. This handset is up for pre-order right now on O2, Vodafone, T-Mobile (in Europe), and Orange through Carphone Warehouse. Yes, Three doesn't appear on the list but you still have 4 options right now so it's still pretty good. It's available to pre-order on a bunch of different contract options so the choice is all up to you. Whenever you're ready check it out on Carphone Warehouse.

As expected, Google has made Gingerbread along with the Nexus S official today. Everyone has been waiting a long time for this so this is definitely great news. Version 2.3 "Gingerbread" is official and brings a few new changes over the other versions of Android. If you want a list of new features then just check out Android Developer.

Anyways, let's move onto the Nexus S. It features a 4-inch WVGA Super AMOLED Contour display, 512MB of RAM, WiFi / Bluetooth support, aGPS, a 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 CPU, 16GB of internal storage, a 5MP AF camera with 720p HD video recording and a flash, a 3.5mm headphone jack, NFC, a front-facing VGA camera, and ships with Android 2.3 "Gingerbread". Clearly, it's missing two key points. It does not have a dual-core CPU and doesn't even sport a microSD card slot. If you're really into NFC right now then I guess it's worth it. I hope there's another Nexus device in early 2011 (unlikely though).

This smartphone will be available unlocked in the US starting on December 16th exclusively through Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile and in the UK exclusively through Carphone Warehouse starting on December 20th. It'll be available for $529 USD unlocked. Check it out on Google's own website here.

Update: You'll also be able to get it for $199.99 on a 2-year T-Mobile USA contract.

Right after the day I was supposed to get my Rogers Samsung Captivate is word of a new flagship phone from Google. The manufacturer is unknown right now but City A.M. is reporting that Google plans to release the Nexus Two before the end of this year. Yes, Google did announce that they wouldn't launch a Nexus Two, but maybe they were just fibbing. This smartphone will be running on the next version of Android, Gingerbread, and should get just as much dev support as the Nexus One got. Specs are unknown right now, but hopefully we'll hear more in the next week. This smartphone will be hitting Carphone Warehouse before the end of the year if the rumour is true. It likely won't be coming from Samsung but it could be from HTC or even from Motorola.

Carphone Warehouse has just put up two new devices up for pre-register. The first one is the white HTC Desire (here) and the other one is the silver HTC Wildfire (here). The Desire is going for free on a £25 monthly contract while the Wildfire is going for free on a £20 monthly contract. Carphone Warehouse points out that both of these smartphones will be available in November so it's still over a month away if you're looking to get these sleek models.

Samsung has just announced that their Android-based Galaxy Tab will be available in time for the holiday season. The tablet will be available starting on November 1st and Carphone Warehouse will be releasing it. Sadly, the price isn't mentioned which usually means that it'll be expensive. Of course, following all of the pricing leaks, that's definitely expected.

Update: According to Slash Gear, the pre-registration page has just gone up on Carphone Warehouse, so check it out.

Update: Another Slash Gear post has just pointed out that T-Mobile's pre-registration page is now live as well; check it out here.

It looks like Carphone Warehouse (here) is now offering the XPERIA X10 Mini. You can now get the world's smallest Android phone for free on a 2-year contract where you'll have to pay as little as £15 ($22 USD) monthly or you can get it £199.95 ($289 USD) on PAYG. Pocket-Lint points out that if you lose small things, you might not want to get this handset since it's as small as a credit card and weighs 88 grams.

Carphone Warehouse in the UK weren't kidding when they told us that they would be launching the Dell Mini 5 / Streak MID in early June. On June 4th, they'll be releasing this tablet / MID / huge smartphone for £429 ($624 USD) contract-free. Of course, the device will also be available for free on contract but you'll have to pay £25 ($36 USD) monthly. It's only three days away, so I'm sure you can wait for it.

Carphone Warehouse has just announced that they'll be launching the Dell Streak aka the Mini 5 MID. This Android 1.6 based tablet sports a 5-inch WVGA touchscreen display and should get an OTA update in the future - hopefully to Android 2.1 or even 2.2 "Froyo". Inside you'll find a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, a microSD card slot, a 16GB card in the box, and on the outside you'll find a front-facing VGA camera along with a 5MP AF camera on the back with a dual-LED flash. The launch will apparently be later this week.
