Could this be for real? The HTC EVO 4G was announced last week, but they might have left something out. Apparently, in Sprint's developer's guide it hinted that this handset could actually be running on the Froyo version of Android which will be their next big iteration - possibly version 2.2. This next version will somehow get rid of the fragmentation problem that is currently happening with Android. It's just even more to get excited about the EVO 4G. The EVO 4G will likely be launched with Android 2.1 though, the 2.2 update should follow up this Fall.

Apparently, Verizon in the USA is planning to launch some kind of BlackBerry Bold in the future - possibly May. Obviously, we don't know which one since it doesn't state the model number. Could it be the Tour2 (9650) or could it be the Storm Slider? Of course, it could also be the Bold 9700, but we don't know yet.

Dell and HP Backing Out of the Netbook Game?
According to Digitimes, both Dell and HP may be giving up on the netbook market because it is "too crowded." To be honest, HP and Dell weren't exactly one of the big names when it comes to netbooks anyway, but the HP Mini line-up was kind of strong. I still prefer Asus' many Eee PC netbooks over HP's and Dell's though. HP is said to be focusing on 11.6-inch AMD-based notebooks for the future instead.

Verizon has just slashed the prices of the Palm Pre Plus and the Pixi Plus to $49.99 (here) and $29.99 (here) on 2-year contracts, respectively, and it's not a prank. It's also buy one get one free which is pretty awesome. Verizon has also decided to cut the fee for their Mobile Hotspot functionality so it you're busy paying $40 then it'll be removed from your next monthly bill which is great news.

LG C710 "Aloha" Runs Android and Could Sport WVGA Display With Slide-Out Keyboard
LG looks like they want to make a splash this year by introducing their C710 "Aloha" smartphone that will be running on Google's Android. Apparently, it'll pack a WVGA (480 x 800) resolution display, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, WiFi 802.11n, and GPRS/UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA connectivity. It may seem like an April Fool's Joke since we're talking about LG here, but the C710 has actually got its WiFi Alliance certificate so the specs could be the real deal.

Well it looks like Acer has just announced a new Aspire Ethos line-up of notebooks. The Aspire Ethos 8943G and 5943G sport 18-inch (1,920 x 1,080 resolution) and 15.6-inch (1,366 x 768 resolution) displays, respectively, along with Intel Core i5 / i7 CPU options and ATI Mobility Radeon HD5000 graphics. They also boast Dolby Home Theater surround sount support, up to 1.28TB of HDD storage (two 640GB HDDs), DVD / Bu-ray optical drives, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, eSATA / USB / FireWire / Ethernet / HDMI / VGA ports, a fingerprint reader, an integrated webcam, and Windows 7.
Of course, the price and release date information hasn't been mentioned yet, so we'll have to wait around for that. However, I can't see these notebooks being low-priced - they're looking quite thin as well.
Update: According to Maximum PC, both models will be sporting an integrated display on the touchpad. If you're interested in what that looks like there's a picture of it below. The Ethos 8943G will reportedly be available in the UK at the end of June for around $1,675, while the Ethos 5943G will be available in Q3 of this year.
Update: Electricpig just got their hands-on the 8943G notebook here, so check it out.

MacBook Pro Spotted In China With Netbook Guts

Here's a perfect April Fool's Joke, but keep in mind that this is a real product found in China. It may look like a MacBook Pro but that's because it's supposed to. Unfortunately, it's a clone and it's actually sporting a 14.1-inch display along with an Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz CPU or an Atom 1.66GHz D510 dual-core CPU. Thankfully, they decided to put the second-gen Ion inside of this baby along with 1GB / 2GB of RAM, a 160GB / 320GB HDD, HDMI / three USB 2.0 ports, a 4-in-1 card reader, and WiFi a/b/g / Bluetooth support. It's pretty funny that this notebook also features the Apple signature trackpad, but who knows how well it actually works.
