Acer TimelineX Series, Ethos 8943G, AS5745, and AS7745 Notebooks Hit the US, Introduce X3 and M3 Desktop PCs Too

Labels: , , , , , , , , ,

Acer has actually announced / released a bunch of new Aspire products today. The first bunch of them is four notebooks that we all know are a part of their TimelineX Series. This includes the 11.6-inch 1830T, 13.3-inch 3820T, 14-inch 4820T, and 15.6-inch 5820T notebooks. They're all available in the US with Core i3 / i5 CPU options and they're not the ULV chips so you'll sacrifice battery life for raw power. All of these models come packed with ATI Radeon HD 5650 graphics and still manage to be less than an inch thick even though the two larger models come packed with optical drives, which is definitely sweet. The cheapest notebook of the line-up is obviously the smallest one which will cost you $600 and will feature an Intel Core i3 CPU, 3GB of RAM, and a 320GB HDD. This is definitely a must buy if you're looking for a small notebook - but not a netbook. All of these notebooks should be popping up online or in stores very soon. On to other things...

Acer has just released their Aspire Ethos 8943G in the US as well. For $1,549.99 (on Amazon) you'll be getting an 18-inch LED-backlit Full HD (1,920 x 1,080 resolution) display, a Core i7-720QM CPU, 4GB of RAM, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5850 graphics, a Blu-ray drive, and the awesome LED touchpad. That's not all though since they're also bringing the AS5745 and AS7745 notebooks with it. Both of these notebooks come with Core i5 / i7 CPU options so that's definitely great. The smaller model will be sporting a 15.6-inch multitouch display if you're willing to spend $900. The larger model will be sporting a 17.3-inch display, a Blu-ray drive, and ATI HD 5650 graphics if you want to spend $1,400.

Starting at just $450, Acer has shown off their Aspire X3 (above) and M3 (below) desktop PCs. The X3 model comes packed with AMD Athlon II, Phenom II, Intel Pentium E6600, and Core i3 CPU options along with 4GB of RAM, up to a 1TB HDD, integrated Intel GMA graphics, and optional Nvidia GeForce 9200 graphics. The M3, on the other hand, only has AMD CPU (Athlon II / Phenom II) options and features up to a 640GB HDD along with Nvidia GeForce 9200 or ATI HD 5450 graphics.

Acer Shows Off Aspire Ethos 5943G and 8943G Notebooks At Computex

Labels: , , , , , ,

In early April we heard about the Acer Aspire Ethos 5943G and the 8943G notebooks. Well, Acer has been nice enough to display both of these notebooks at Computex and Engadget was good enough to approach them and try it out for us. Both models featured an Intel Core i7-720QM CPU, Blu-ray drives, an 8-cell battery, and the awesome trackpads. Engadget points out that the black dual-mode trackpad - "it's a standard touchpad until you press the circular button between the buttons, after which is turns into the system's multimedia controls.

The 15.6-inch 5943G notebook features 4GB of DDR3 RAM and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 graphics, while the 18.4-inch 8943G notebook features 8GB of DDR3 RAM along with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5850 graphics. Both notebooks should be available fairly soon (in the UK, at least) and you might want to save up a little bit of money for either of them.

Acer Announce Aspire Ethos 5943G and 8943G Notebooks, Look Pricey

Labels: , , , ,

Well it looks like Acer has just announced a new Aspire Ethos line-up of notebooks. The Aspire Ethos 8943G and 5943G sport 18-inch (1,920 x 1,080 resolution) and 15.6-inch (1,366 x 768 resolution) displays, respectively, along with Intel Core i5 / i7 CPU options and ATI Mobility Radeon HD5000 graphics. They also boast Dolby Home Theater surround sount support, up to 1.28TB of HDD storage (two 640GB HDDs), DVD / Bu-ray optical drives, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, eSATA / USB / FireWire / Ethernet / HDMI / VGA ports, a fingerprint reader, an integrated webcam, and Windows 7.

Of course, the price and release date information hasn't been mentioned yet, so we'll have to wait around for that. However, I can't see these notebooks being low-priced - they're looking quite thin as well.

Update: According to Maximum PC, both models will be sporting an integrated display on the touchpad. If you're interested in what that looks like there's a picture of it below. The Ethos 8943G will reportedly be available in the UK at the end of June for around $1,675, while the Ethos 5943G will be available in Q3 of this year.

Update: Electricpig just got their hands-on the 8943G notebook here, so check it out.
