AT&T Employees Training For the BlackBerry 9800, CDMA Model On the Way?

Labels: , , , , , ,

Over the weekend, a bunch of new BlackBerry 9800 slider photos surfaced and there's even more details today. The Cellular Guru has just mentioned that this handset is definitely headed to AT&T with a 5MP camera and the BB OS 6.0. Furthermore, RIM is working on a CDMA model for this handset so it could be headed to the four major carriers in the US. There's also another rumour going around that AT&T has already starting the training for this handset, so can anyone confirm this?

Update: According to Slash Gear, RIM decided not to use the SurePress touchscreen on this handset, which is great news.

BlackBerry 9800 Leak Shows New WebKit Browser, Gets 100/100 On Acid3 Test

Labels: , , , , ,

Another leak of the BlackBerry 9800 aka Mr. T has been spotted and this time it's given us a sneak peak of the upcoming WebKit browser in the new BB OS 6.0. It's showing off tabbed browsing in the photo above and this is great news. As you can see in the picture above, the Acid3 Test shows that BB's new browser scores a perfect 100 / 100.

Update: According to CrackBerry, there have been a couple more pictures of the BlackBerry 9800 in action. Both of the pictures that leaked out are below, showing off the on-screen QWERTY keyboard and the back of the smartphone. It's starting to look like RIM is nearing a final unit because the back of the handset is looking much better than when the pics of this handset leaked out a couple of months ago.

AT&T To Get the BlackBerry Bold 9800 (Mr. T) This June?

Labels: , , , , , , ,

Apparently, RIM is looking to make a "Bold" move (see what I did there?). The latest rumour states that the BlackBerry Bold 9800 aka the Mr. T will be hitting AT&T in the USA this June. AT&T has reportedly ordered 1,000,000 of this handsets which seems like a lot. This could be a bad move by RIM seeing how the next iPhone is expected to launch in June as well. If this is true that means that RIM's OS 6.0 could be ready earlier than I expected, so let's bring on that new WebKit browser of theirs.

BlackBerry Slider 9800 "Mr. T" Finally Gets Turned On, Running BB OS 6.0

Labels: , , , , ,

We've seen this handset a couple of times now, but it's always been turned off. A new picture (above) of the handset, codenamed "Mr. T" is now making the rounds because it's turned on to reveal that it'll be running BB OS 6.0. That means that this device is as real as it gets and it'll likely get launched in Q3 of this year. This seems like a too little too late effort from RIM but maybe it's got something juicy that we don't know yet. BBLeaks has mentioned that this handset will eventually get launched as the BlackBerry Slider 9800.

BlackBerry OS 6.0 Details Leak Out, Webkit Browser and Multitouch; Coming In June / July!!

Labels: , , , , , , , , ,

It looks like details on the BlackBerry OS 6.0 has just trickled out thanks to Boy Genius. If you just want to get straight to the point and read their lengthy post, then scroll down and check out their link - I won't mind. Anyways, this OS update is said to be rolling out in June / July and that's a "100%" guarantee. As you can see in the photo above there's a revamped home screen and below there's a photo of their new WebKit browser which should be amazing thanks to pinch-to-zoom and tabbed browsing. Of course, there's also kinetic browsing which is great news. There's social integration, multitouch support, a new media player, and a new photo viewer as well.

The photos are clearly large enough for this to be demoed on a touchscreen device so could it be the Storm / Bold slider (Mr. T) or the Storm 3? We do know that the OS was reportedly demoed by an "AT&T connect" which means that they're getting a touchscreen BB in the future (perfect for Rogers, Bell, and Telus in Canada). We don't know yet, but check out the Boy Genius link below for everything you need to know so far.

BlackBerry 9800 Gets Spotted In UAProf, Storm / Bold Slider? -- 9105 As Well

Labels: , , , , , ,

Thanks to another UAProf, another BlackBerry has been hinted at, with a model number 9800. We don't know what this could be. Could it be the BlackBerry Bold / Storm slider or could it be something we haven't heard of yet (like a Storm 3)? We don't know but the handset is said to feature WiFi 802.11n, 3G connectivity, a 360 x 480 resolution display, and the new BB OS 6.0. Unfortunately, this new OS still doesn't feature their upcoming WebKit browser, but it'll get implemented in the feature.

Update: According to Cell Passion, RIM has also leaked out the BlackBerry 9105, which is said to be the Pearl 9100 with a traditional T9 keypad.

Canada's Bell Mobility Discontinues the BlackBerry Storm, What Could Replace It?

Labels: , , , , , , , ,

Bell looks like they have just discontinued the BlackBerry Storm. The Canadian carrier could be looking to launch it's direct successor or they could be thinking about launching a BlackBerry that hasn't become official yet. Could Bell be preparing to launch an HSPA model of the BlackBerry Storm 2? Maybe they're looking to launch the BlackBerry Bold / Storm Slider.

BlackBerry Mr T (Talladega) Storm / Bold Slider Possibly Launching In April

Labels: , , ,

Apparently, the Mr. T BlackBerry Bold / Storm slider is actually codenamed the Talladega. It's unconfirmed right now, but it may see a launch in April, next month. Apparently, a RIM CEO actually couldn't keep his mouth shut and might've mentioned it. Of course, it's unconfirmed right now, but I'm sure some people will go and buy one. Do you think it's true?

More BlackBerry Bold / Storm (9700a / 9900 / 9930) Slider Pictures Leak Out

Labels: , , ,

A bunch of new photos of that BlackBerry Bold / Storm slider has just been leaked out. Apparently, it'll be a part of the Bold line-up since it supposedly has the 9700a model name.We still don't know any specs for this handset, but it could be running a new BB 6.0 OS. Keep in mind that this could be a prototype of what RIM will really release so take these pictures with a couple of grains of salt.

Update: According to Boy Genius, this BlackBerry actually sports the model number 9900 and 9930, which will be the GSM and HSPA models. This BlackBerry is reportedly headed to Sprint as well.

BlackBerry Storm / Bold Slider Leaks In Photos Again

Labels: , , ,

The BlackBerry Bold Slider looks like it has just been caught in more photos. Of course, it's the same person leaking them out. Some of the photos show that the batter is just 1050mAh so it's quite small for a BB - according to CrackBerry. The specs still aren't mentioned so maybe we'll know them in a couple of days / weeks / months from now.

BlackBerry Touch Slider aka Mr T aka Storm 3 Picture Leaks Out? -- Could Be A Bold

Labels: , , ,

Apparently, this could be what RIM is codenaming the Mr. T aka the BlackBerry Storm 3. Clearly, it's got a similar factor-form to the Palm Pre. This is unconfirmed right now, but it's looking like this touchscreen slider will pop up again in the near future with a video. It doesn't look all that great but I'm sure if RIM were to render it all nice and stuff some people would fall in love with it.

There's not much they can really do to this handset to make it more BlackBerry-like. It's got the optical trackpad and a familiar keyboard as well.

Update: According to CrackBerry's lengthy post, this handset likely won't be the Storm 3 since it'll be part of the Bold Series. At least, that's what they believe. Apparently, there won't be SurePress on this screen and it'll act more like every other touchscreen out there.

BlackBerry Storm Slider Pictured and Rumoured To Bring BB OS 6.0 With It

Labels: ,

It definitely looks weird but this could be what the BlackBerry Storm slider will look like. The touchscreen display (360 x 480 resolution) will be accompanied with a slide-out QWERTY keypad - Palm Pre-style. Apparently, this handset will be running on BB OS 6.0 (not out yet, of course) and it'll have WiFi 802.11n support. It's said to have GSM / HSPA connectivity - so it won't be locked on Verizon.

Apparently though, we'll see the touchscreen Bold (Dakota / Magnum) after they launch this handset.

BlackBerry With a Slide-Out QWERTY Keyboard, Picture From a Patent In March 2008

Labels: , ,

Back in late September we heard that RIM was working on a BlackBerry with a slide-out landscape QWERTY keyboard. Well, what you see may be your first look at what it could look like. Codenamed Mr. T this handset features a touchscreen - like their Storm line-up. Keep in mind that this is an old picture and was patented way back in March 2008. I'm sure it'll look a bit different - hopefully better.

BlackBerry Storm 3 "Mr.T" Launching Before Christmas -- Doubtful.

Labels: , , ,

The BlackBerry Storm 2 isn't even available yet and we're already hearing about the BlackBerry Storm 3, codenamed Mr. T. The Storm 3 supposedly has a "high-resolution [possibly capacitive] touchscreen" and a slide-out landscape QWERTY keyboard. Obviously details on this smartphone are slim, since it's still just a rumour that this handset even exists. The rumour states that this handset will be available just in time for Christmas, but I highly doubt that since the Storm 2 isn't supposed to get launch until next month (October).
