Labels: , , ,

Red Fox have just unleashed a colourful netbook, the Wizbook N1020i. When this netbook is available - it didn't specify when that will be - they will cost 21,190 pesos ($440 USD) in the Philippines.

Best Buy and Sprint Launch 99-Cent Netbook, Still Manages to Be a Ripoff

Labels: , , ,

Best Buy and Sprint have just launched their first netbook, a "Compaq-branded HP Mini 110c", and it will only cost you $0.99 USD. This may seem cheap at first, but you're going to have to agree to a 2-year data plan, which will cost $60 USD per month. After 2 years, that leaves you spending $1,440 USD for a netbook, which is definitely not worth it. Engadget suggests that you spend the money elsewhere and they have some tips for you, so check out the link below. By the way, do not take this shady deal.

Pictures of Sony Ericsson's "Twiggy" Handset, Could Be Canceled Though

Labels: , ,

This Sony Ericsson handset has just leaked online. It's codenamed "Twiggy" and - at this point - it could actually be canceled. It has the same look as most of their handsets, so there's nothing new here. It has a 3.2MP camera and a touch sensitive play / pause button on the flip cover. Like I said, it could be a canceled handset, so don't get your hopes up about it just yet. On a side note, let's hope that Rachael isn't canceled because that's one of the few Sony Ericsson handsets to look forward to.

Nokia Unveils Rugged 3720 Handset Teaser

Labels: ,

Nokia has just unveiled a new rugged handset, the 3720. In the video below, it gets lightly tapped by a golf club. This phone is apparently still a prototype of a "tough new Nokia phone", but it still manages to work after one golf swing. There has been no other details about this phone, so we'll hopefully have more for you in the future - if you care. Enjoy the video below, although it would've been better if Tiger Woods was swinging at it with a driver.

Marvell Builds Tiny PC In a Plug, Only $99

Labels: ,

Marvell - not Marvel Superheroes - is a California-based company. I've never heard of them until now because they have just made the Sheevaplug. It may look like an ordinary outlet plug to you, but Marvell has actually put in a tiny PC inside of this small little thing. The Sheevaplug has: a 1.2GHz CPU, 512MB of flash memory, 512MB of RAM, a gigabit Ethernet port, USB / miniUSB ports, and an SD card slot. "It lacks any kind of video output, so you'll need some sort of USB video adapter, but its specs should be sufficient to run a cut-down Linux distro and work as a web server." This PC only sucks up 5W of power, so that's always good.

It only costs $99 USD for a developer kit, which includes this plug and some software tools. They are working on a new model, so you could just wait for that if you like - it'll have pre-installed software.

Apple and Nokia Releasing Devices With Micro-Projectors By the End of the Year?

Labels: , , , , ,

2 days ago, I reported that the Samsung MBP200 is now available in Germany. Well, that relates to today's news because I am going to talk about 2 more companies who are rumoured to be launching their own devices with micro-projectors.

According to Foxlink, Apple, Nokia, and Samsung are reportedly going to release handsets with micro-projectors by the end of the year. Samsung has already released their own model, the MBP200, so they're off the list - unless they make another one. For Apple and Nokia, Foxlink may be the supplier for their projectors, so don't be surprised if Nokia announces some handset with a projector at this year's Nokia World. Apple - on the other hand - I have no clue when they would announce something like this, since they just launched the iPhone 3GS. Maybe we'll see it on an iPod?

Samsung Announces XL2370 LED-Backlit 23-Inch 1080p Monitor

Labels: ,

Samsung has just announced its latest monitor, the XL2370. It's pretty similar to the P2370 that was announced back in early May, but of course, there is a slight difference. Like the P2370, the XL2370 is part of the "Touch of Color" lineup and it sports a 1080p resolution with a 2ms response time; the XL2370 is also only 0.65 inches thick. The biggest difference between the two monitors is that this monitor has a 5,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. Samsung is claiming that this is their "highest performance monitor" so that can only be taken as a good thing. Expect this 23-inch LED-backlit XL2370 monitor to start shipping in Korea in mid-July. Afterwards, it will be available in Europe and "other parts of the world" in August. The price hasn't been mentioned yet though.

Sorry, PSP Go Does Not Have 480MHz CPU, Meant For USB Transfers

Labels: , , , ,

Were you one of the many PSP Go fans out there who couldn't wait to get their hands on the new 480MHz CPU? Well, that sucks for you because Sony Computer Entertainment has just cleared up the whole situation. According to them, the "Maximum clock frequency mentioned here is for the USB device, not the CPU." It's okay, I'm sad too. Looks like the 333MHz CPU is here to stay, unless Sony surprises us.
