Casio G'zOne Commando and DROID Incredible 2 Available For $199

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Verizon has actually released two phones today which is pretty amazing. There's the Casio G'zOne Commando and the DROID Incredible 2 which are both running the Android OS. They're both available right now for $199.99 if you're willing to sign up for a 2-year contract.

The first handset is expensive because it's a rugged handset; other than that it's a mid-end touchscreen phone. The DROID Incredible 2 is just the Incredible S in a disguise and Verizon-branding. It's a decent upgrade over the last model but, sadly, still houses a 1GHz CPU. Check them both out on Verizon whenever you want to.

Although the Casio Brigade isn't available in stores, Verizon could actually be offering and shipping them out right now - if you talk to the right people. This person reportedly got the phone by calling the carrier's telesales directly. Unfortunately, it'll cost you $249.99 on a 2-year contract after rebates so it's definitely not cheap.

An awkward name for a phone, the Casio G'zOne Brigade. This handset appears to be a rugged handset that surprisingly packs a QWERTY keyboard which looks pretty usable. Other specs and pricing details and launch details are still unknown, but it looks like it could launch on Verizon's network.

Verizon Pushing Out a List of Phones Before Year's End

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , ,

According to the latest rumour, this is the list of Verizon's upcoming phones for the year. Take a look at the list below, courtesy of Boy Genius.

  • LG Chocolate Touch VX8575 - Full touchscreen, might be like the BL40
  • BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 - October-November release
  • Nokia Shade 2705 - Replaces the Mirage 2605
  • Nokia Twist 7705 - This might be the swivel-style phone that has been rumored for months.
  • Palm Treo 800W - “Even though this was released for Sprint last year, Verizon may not have it out until February 2010.”
  • Motorola Entice (or Harmony) W766 - Replaces the W755
  • Samsung Rogue U960 - Replaces the Glyde U940, expected in August
  • Samsung U450 - Verizon Mobile TV-compatible
  • Samsung Strut U440 - QWERTY handset

And a few PTT handsets to boot:
  • Motorola V860
  • Samsung Convoy U640
  • Casio Rock C731
  • Casio Brigade C741

The most interesting handsets on this list is: the LG Chocolate Touch that could actually be the LG BL40, the BlackBerry Storm 2 of course, the Rogue U960 aka SCH-U960 aka Glyde 2, and the Omnia II possibly the I8000 - like earlier rumours (not going to be available this month though). Keep in mind this list is just a rumour, but you can count on the Storm 2 launching this year. It looks like a pretty good list from Verizon Wireless.

Motorola Rival A455 and Casio Exilim C721 Launching On VZW On June 10

Labels: , , , , ,

You thought that AT&T would get all the fun leaking handsets? Well, it looks like Verizon Wireless feels the need to show off just 2 of their future handsets. One being the Motorola Rival A455 and the other being the Casio Exilim C721.

First up is the Rival A455 from Motorola. It has: a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, EV-DO connectivity, GPS, Bluetooth, and a 2MP camera. Clearly, it's not a high-end phone, but then again it's a Motorola handset. Did you expect anything more? Next up is the Casio Exilim C721, which is that water resistant phone we heard about in early April. Remember, the ad with the girl in the shower? The Exilim C721 has: a 5.1MP camera, a swiveling WVGA display and, like I said, is water resistant. Both of these handsets will launch on June 10 on Verizon Wireless, but there has been no word on the pricing.

Casio Exilim is Good For Girls in the Shower

Labels: , ,

If you take a look at the video below, it is an ad for Casio's latest Exilim handset. It has a 5.1MP camera and will be available through Verizon at a later date. It involves a girl in the shower talking on the phone then taking pictures of herself, yeah... Yes, it is water resistant and is also a good way to get caught "sexting."
