Motorola just announced the EX130 which, surprisingly, isn't running the Android OS. This is actually running on Qualcomm's Brew MP and the handset itself sports a 2.8-inch QVGA display as well as a smaller OLED "ticker" display. It's kind of like a low-end Samsung Continuum, well, made by Motorola. The handset also sports 64MB of RAM, 128MB of internal storage, and Bluetooth. Price and release date for this one hasn't been mentioned yet.

AT&T has just officially announced some good news for you Qualcomm Brew lovers out there. The HTC Freestyle will be available on Sunday February 13th for $99.99 on a 2-year contract. Quite a bit to pay when they have a load of Android phones coming but maybe your significant other will want one. Valentine's day is the next day.

Coming from PocketNow (here and here) is word that two new HTC handsets could be on the way. The first handset is said to be a mid-range handset sporting Android (above on the left) that's clearly going to have the traditional start/end call buttons which is extremely rare for an Android phone to have. The other phone on the right is said to be running on Qualcomm's Brew OS but that's all we know. Specs for both of these phones are completely unknown but they could be the Aria 2 and the Smart 2, respectively. Maybe the official announcement will be at MWC.

Not exactly the most interesting story of the day but HTC and AT&T have announced the first dumbphone of CES. Dubbed the Freestyle (F8181), this handset sports a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display, and Qualcomm's Brew MP platform with a hint of the Sense UI over top of it. This handset will be available sometime next month (February) for an unmentioned price. It should be cheap though since it's being described as the QMP which stands for Quick Messaging Phone.

Canada's MTS has just released yet another handset, the Kyocera Rio. This handset is available right now (here) for free on a 3-year contract, $69.99 on a 2-year contract, and $304.99 contract-free. It's been a while since we've heard about this mid-end handset so I'll recap the specs. It features a 2.8-inch resistive touchscreen display, aGPS, a 1.3MP camera, a 3.5mm headphone jack, tri-band CDMA 1x connectivity, a microSD card slot, and the Brew OS.

Something a bit interesting has just hit the FCC and it's the HTC PD53100. Engadget believes that the handset in question is the Qualcomm Brew-based F8181 handset that will be going to AT&T sometime in the future. This handset will be a decent addition to AT&T's mid-end phone line-up because Brew-based handsets are pretty rare in this day and age.

A new Brew-based handset has just trickled out, dubbed the Motorola EX300. This handset reportedly features a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen display, GPS / Bluetooth support, a 3.1MP camera, a microSD card slot, tri-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity (900/1800/1900 MHz), and 3G (900/2100 MHz) support. If you're interested in picking this one up then you can find it on a Russian website (here) where they're taking pre-orders for around €175 ($225 USD). There's also a page up on Motorola Taiwan and Hong Kong - the launch is imminent.

The render that popped up last weekend turned out to be true and it's the HTC F8181. This Brew-based handset doesn't have a name right now but it could be the Smart2. The handset you see above is running on Qualcomm's Brew MP OS and will be headed to AT&T. The Engadget exclusive has just gotten some pictures of it. Specs are still unknown so we'll have to wait around for that. It doesn't look too high-end though so don't get your hopes up.

A render of the successor to the HTC Smart has just leaked out and that's supposedly what you see above. This is said to be the HTC Smart2 and will be running Qualcomm's Brew OS. It could be a fake but we'll just have to wait and see what happens. Another handset is being tossed around and it's one we've heard of before. The HTC Speedy could be planning to hit Sprint sometime in the future, but we don't know when. This smartphone is said to sport a 3.5-inch HVGA touchscreen display, a 5MP camera with a flash, 386MB of RAM, an 800MHz CPU, and Android 2.2 "Froyo". It won't exactly be the speediest handset out there with dual-core CPUs coming to phones near you.

Cricket will be launching a new handset in the near future and it'll be a touchscreen phone. Dubbed the Kyocera (E3100) Rio, the handset will feature a 2.8-inch resistive touchscreen display with a 240 x 320 resolution, a 1.3MP camera, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Stereo Bluetooth support, aGPS, tri-band CDMA 1x connectivity, a microSD card slot, and access to Qualcomm's BREW-based content. We don't know when or for how much the Rio will be hitting the carrier for so we'll have to wait for those two crucial pieces of information.

Spotted over two months ago at the Bluetooth SIG, the Motorola WX404 has been spotted once again. This time it's taken a trip down to FCC lane and it's a pretty mid-end QWERTY smartphone. The manual tells us that the WX404 will feature Bluetooth support, a microSD card slot, tri-band (850/1700/1900) CDMA connectivity, a headphone jack, and Qualcomm's Brew platform. The release date or price hasn't been mentioned yet, but it should be hitting the USA on either Cricket or MetroPCS. Check out the FCC filing here.

The successor the Brew-powered HTC Smart is said to be in the works. Dubbed the HTC Smart2 - at least for now - it's said that this model will have at least WiFi support and the Office Suite. Of course, the Smart2 is said to be another affordable handset and it'll be under 10,000 INR ($214 USD / €174). This is a pretty cheap smartphone-like device and it'll be running the Brew OS again.

O2 looks like they have just released the HTC Desire in the UK and that means that every carrier in the UK now has this phone - lucky them. There's not much to tell you here that you shouldn't already know about the phone, it's everywhere now. This handset was delayed a bit because of the training that the Desire initially failed. Anyways, you can check it out on O2's site because it's all good now.

Don't forget that O2 has also released the HTC Smart, so maybe you'll want to opt for that instead of the Desire.

Cricket looks like they're planning to launch a bunch of new phones to make their line-up a bit stronger. This includes the Kyocera Zio M6000 and the BlackBerry Curve 8530. The Kyocera Zio was announced last week so we know that it features a 3.5-inch WVGA touchscreen display, WiFi / GPS support, a 3.2MP camera, and Android 2.1. This handset will be available this July for $299 contract-free. The BlackBerry Curve 8530 will be available for $349.99 sometime in August.

Cricket will be launching a couple of other phones as well and this includes the Samsung r710 which will launch in Q4 of this year. This handset will pack a 3-inch WQVGA touchscreen display, Streo Bluetooth, EV-DO connectivity, and a 3MP camera. This handset will be available for $249.99. The Samsung r631 will be available in Q3 of this year for $199.99. This handset will pack a touchscreen display along with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, Stereo Bluetooth and a 2MP camera. The Kyocera RIO E3100 will launch in November for $159.99. It'll feature a 2.8-inch touchscreen QVGA display, a microSD card slot, and a 1.3MP camera. The Cricket TXTM8 3G A410 will be launching this September for $159.99 and it'll pack EV-DO connectivity, a 2.2-inch QVGA display, a 2MP camera, a microSD card slot, and a QWERTY keypad. The Cricket MSGM8 II will launch this April for $139.99 and will feature a QWERTY keypad with a 176 x 220 resolution display, Bluetooth support, and a 1.3MP camera. The Cricket CAPT II will be launching in July for $129.99 and it's a basic flip phone with a VGA camera.

Along with all of these new phones, Cricket will also be launching the A605 USB stick, the Huawei EC5808 MiFi, and a ZTE modem.

The HTC Smart looks like it will be launched exclusively on a carrier over in Europe. We're talking about O2. The Qualcomm Brew-powered phone will be available for free on contract and will be available starting this April. This handset features a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen display, a 3MP camera with a flash, a 300MHz CPU, a microSD card slot, a 3.5mm headpone jack, and Bluetooth 2.0 support.

We first heard about this phone back in December and now it's been official. The HTC Touch.B / Rome will be launched as the HTC Smart. It'll be running on Qualcomm's Brew Mobile Platform  - also in the INQ Mini 3G - and will be overlayed with HTC's Sense UI. This handset will reportedly feature: a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen display, a 3MP camera with a flash, a 300MHz CPU, a microSD card slot, 256MB of ROM and RAM, a 3.5mm headphone jack, GSM / HSDPA connectivity, Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, and an 1,100 mAh battery. This looks like it will be HTC's first dumbphone - especially since it's missing WiFi and GPS.

Just two days ago we heard a rumour that a variant of the HTC Touch2 would launch with Android and that would be the HTC Touch.B (HTC Rome). Well, a new rumour states that the Touch.B actually won't be fueled by Android. It'll actually be running Qualcomm's Brew mobile OS, which I know absolutely nothing about. We'll just to wait around for more information about this handset.

Update: At this point, the UI is pretty simple with a bit of HTC's own TouchFLO. It'll reportedly have a 2MP camera (with no video recording capabilities) and 3G / Bluetooth support. No WiFi on this sucker though. This handset is expected to launch in early 2010 and will be an entry-level device. However, there is Adobe Flash support, which makes things interesting.
