Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

A new standard netbook actually hit Asus' website yesterday, but it has unfortunately been taken down. It was the Eee PC 1015P that has already hit the FCC and it was shown off earlier this year at CeBIT. This netbook features a 101.-inch display, an Intel Atom N450 CPU, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB / 250GB / 320GB HDD, WiFi b/g/n / Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR support, a 0.3MP webcam, VGA / three USB / LAN ports, audio jacks, a card reader, a 3 / 6-cell battery and Windows 7 Starter Edition with Express Gate. This is a standard netbook and it'll be available in the future with N455, N470, and N475 CPU options as well.

Update: According to Engadget, both the 1015P and 1015PE have hit Asus' official website (here and here, respectively). Both of these netbooks are equipped with a lengthy 13.5 hour battery life.

Labels: , , , , , , , , ,

Dell Offering Intel Atom N450-Equipped Inspiron Mini 10 Starting On January 5th

Labels: , , , , , ,

Dell has just announced that their Inspiron Mini 10 netbook will be available (in the US) with Intel's recently announced Pine Trail Atom N450 CPU starting on January 5th. The rest of the world will get their chance to get this netbook on January 7th. This news shouldn't be that surprising if you refer back to late November when we saw the FCC filing for it. If you wait you should notice a slight performance boost and a longer battery life than the current Atom Z520 CPU. It'll retail at $299 USD.

Intel Officially Announces Pine Trail Atom Line-Up; N450, D410, D510 CPUs

Labels: , , , , , ,

It took them long enough and Intel just couldn't wait until CES 2010. Basically, if you purchased a netbook for your son / your daughter / or (sadly) yourself, it's now obsolete. Intel has just announced their upcoming Atoms that we know all about at this point. Both of these CPUs are 45nm chips that feature the memory controller and the graphics on one chip, which will essentially increase the battery life of your netbook. They've announced the Atom N450 which is intended for netbooks, the single-core D410, and the dual-core D510 both of which are intended for nettops. The Atom N450 (perfomace-wise) isn't a huge step-up over the last-gen Atom N280, but the battery life improved a bit.

A new netbook has just been spotted at the FCC. This CPU is a part of Intel's upcoming Pine Trail line-up that we should see in early 2010. Check out the FCC filing here.

Lenovo Netbook With an Intel Atom N450 CPU Gets FCC Certified

Labels: , , , , , , , , ,

Something new has just been spotted at the FCC and it's a Lenovo netbook. This is not like every other netbook though. According to the FCC filing, this netbook features: an Intel Atom N450 (Pine Trail) 1.6GHz CPU, a 10.1-inch display with a 1,024 x 600 resolution, a 250GB HDD, WiFi 802.11n, 2GB of RAM, a chiclet keyboard, a buttonless touchpad, and way too much gloss - as you can tell with all of that fingerprint grease.

It's pretty cool that a netbook with the next generation of Intel Atom's has already passed the FCC. I'd assume that this netbook will be released in early 2010 with a showing at CES 2010.

Asus Set To Unveil Netbooks Running Atom N450 At CES 2010, Netbooks With Atom N470 At CeBIT 2010

Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

According to good ol' Digitimes, Asus is going to be unveiling their first set of netbooks running on Intel (Pine Trail) Atom N450 CPUs at CES 2010. One of the netbooks they'll be showing off is the Eee PC T101H, which I'll actually classify as a tablet netbook since it'll have a touchscreen display. At CES, they'll also unveil more ultrathin notebooks and (possibly) along with that smartbook we've been hearing about. We'll also likely see the Asus Eee Keyboard PC, it'll launch at around the $500 price point.

At CeBIT, they'll be unveiling more netbooks but these will be running on the faster Intel (Pine Trail) Atom N470 CPUs.
