MSI Introduces 10-Inch Wind Pad 100 Tablet, Atom CPU and Skinned Windows 7

Labels: , , , , ,

It looks like MSI has just introduced their 10-inch MSI Wind Pad 100 tablet. This is sporting an Intel Atom CPU along with Windows 7 and MSI's own Wind Touch UI. Other specs include 3G / WiFi connectivity, an HDMI port, USB ports, and a webcam / microphone - it also weighs 800 grams. It might seem good on paper, but a tablet running Windows 7 will do no one any good.

MSI Unveils 3D Notebook, Wind U135, AE2420 and Dual-Screen E-Book Reader!

Labels: , , , , , , , , ,

Just like we heard two days ago, MSI has just unveiled their 3D notebooks and their dual-screen e-ook reader. Of course, they've also unveiled their fair share of netbooks with Intel Atom N450 CPUs - more specifically the Wind U135. Their 3D notebook consists of a 15.6-inch display with 120Hz and 3D technology. You'll have to wear glasses for the 3D effect, so I doubt you'll want to wear those in public.

They also have a couple of gaming notebooks on deck with Nvidia GT640 / GT740 / GX640 / GX740 graphics, and Intel Core i5 / Core i7 CPU options. They've unveiled the X-Slim X360 notebook as well and it'll have the new Intel "Arrandale" ULV CPUs.

Update: According to Gizmodo, there's also the Wind Top AE2420, which has an Intel Core i3 / i5 CPU, a 24-inch multi-toucshcreen display, a 500GB / 1TB HDD, ATI Radeon HD 5000 Series graphics, six USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI / VGA ouput. This all-in-one PC will be available for $1,199 USD.

The e-book reader is said to contain two 10-inch capacitive multi-touchscreen displays. From what I've seen it looks less like an e-book reader and more of a dual-screen netbook. This is especially considering that you can use one screen as a keyboard and the fact that it's powered by a Intel Atom Z Series CPU and is running Windows 7 Home Premium. Engadget actually just got their hands-on this device so check it out here. MSI is planning to launch this e-book reader this year, so let's hope they can pull through on their promise.

Microsoft Bans Netbooks With Hybrid Storage Systems

Labels: , , , , ,

Why Microsoft, why? According to the latest reports, Microsoft has banned the ability for netbooks to have hybrid storage systems, like the MSI Wind U115. The Wind U115 Hybrid netbook has this technology and, according to some tests, has the best battery life (for a netbook). Microsoft, though, doesn't like this and now the Wind U115 is being pulled from store shelves, which is a big disappointment. If you can't find it in stores, the MSI Wind U115 is still being sold on the official site (for $500 USD), but who knows how long it will be up for.

MSI Wind U115 Now Available In Japan and the UK

Labels: , ,

If you remember back in January, we heard that the MSI Wind U115 will be capable of running an SSD and an HDD at the same time using a new hybrid storage technology. The Wind U115 has: a 10-inch display, Intel's Atom Z530 CPU, a 6-cell battery, and 720p video playback to cap it off. It is now shipping for £450 - £500 ($675 USD - $750 USD) in the UK, but it is also available in Japan. Apparently, the Wind U115 is the netbook with one of the longest lasting batteries out there, according to MadShrimps. I hope we can get a double check on that though.

MSI Wind U200 Leaks And Packs CULV

Labels: , ,

MSI is best known for their laptops, to my belief, and here is the supposed Wind U200. The leaked / rumoured spec sheet consists of: a 12-inch LED-backlit display with a 1,366 x 768 resolution, Intel's CULV CPU, GMA 4500M graphics, WiFi, 2GB of DDR2 RAM, and a 250GB HDD. The said laptop will also be equipped with a 3-cell battery, which will hopefully be upgradeable to a 6-cell, and will weigh just 3 pounds. Engadget's guessing that the Wind U200 will be in the $700 USD price range, so we'll have to see how that plays out.

MSI Wind U123 Notebook Line-Up; GX403 Gaming Laptop

Labels: , , ,

2 laptops from MSI have just been detailed. First off, the MSI Wind U123 will have 3 models: the U123, U123H, and U123T. The MSI Wind U123 netbook will have the same specs that were seen on April 1 (so it's no joke) and it will be seen as the "standard" model. The U123H, on the other hand, will have "a 3.5G (HSDPA) WWAN module." The U123T will have an integrated TV tuner, but as Engadget points out, it looks like there will be no way to get both the TV tuner and the 3.5G-ness. Don't forget to scroll down to read up on information regarding the MSI GX403 gaming laptop.

The MSI GX403 was also announced today and it is a gaming laptop. It has a 14-inch display (no word on if it will be HD though), a Centrino 2 Core 2 Duo processor, 4GB of RAM, a GeForce GT 130M graphics card, a 500GB HDD, an integrated 1.3MP webcam, a Blu-ray player, an HDMI port and WiFi. There is no word on when the laptop will be available and for what price. It'll probably have a US release, but no one knows when it will be. It has decent specs and a Blu-ray drive, so it could be a bit expensive.
