MSI X-Slim X320 and X340; Wind U123 Unveiled

Labels: , ,

MSI has unleashed their new MSI X-Slim X320 and X340 and Wind U123 laptops. Let's start off with the similarities between the X-Slim X320 and the X340. They have a couple of features in common: a 13.4-inch screen with a 1,366 x 768 resolution, an integrated 1.3MP webcam, Bluetooth, 802.11 b/g/n wireless connectivity, 3 USB 2.0 ports, 2-in-1 card reader (SD/MMC), runs Windows Vista Home Premium, weighs 2.8 pounds with the 4-cell battery, has your option of including an 8-cell battery, and it comes in 3 colours (Silver, White, Black). The X320 (base price of $700 USD) sets itself apart from the X340 by having an Intel Atom Z530 1.6GHz processor, up to 2GB of DDR2 667MHz RAM, a 250GB HDD, and has 3G / WiMAX optional. The X340 (base price of $1,000 USD) has Intel's CULV processor which cuts the power usage to 1/6th of the standard processor (going green), up to 4GB of DDR2 800MHz RAM, a 320GB HDD, and has an HDMI port. The Wind U123 (unidentified price), on the other hand, is a netbook. It has a 10.2-inch WSVGA (1,024 x 600 resolution) display, the Intel Atom 1.66GHz N280, 1GB of DDR2 533MHz RAM, a 160GB HDD, a 4-in-1 card reader, Bluetooth, an integrated 1.3MP webcam, 3 USB 2.0 ports, 802.11 b/g/n wireless connectivity, and will run on Windows XP Home. It weighs only 2.98 pounds with a standard 6-cell battery, but you can make it a bit heavier if you opt for the 9-cell battery. These 3 laptops have an impressive spec sheet, but I'm curious to know the price of the Wind U123 and when they will be available.
