On their Facebook page, US Cellular announced that they'll be releasing the BlackBerry Bold 9650 on August 18th. This is just about a week from now but the thing that we don't know is the price. The smartphone itself packs a 2.4-inch HVGA display, an optical trackpad, a 3.2MP camera, global roaming, and WiFi support. Of course, this is a bit late to the party.

According to Digitimes, the BlackBerry tablet, the BlackPad, could be launching in September of this year. Apparently, RIM is looking to sell 2 million units this year and another 8 million units next year. This is pretty optimistic from RIM but it'll already sell less than the iPad seeing how Apple managed to sell 3 million in three months. Anyways, the retail price for the tablet is expected to be $499, but it's just a rumour right now.

A bunch of possible Verizon leaks have just been spewed out, thanks to Boy Genius, a roadmap of sorts. Apparently, first in line will be a Motorola DROID Pro which will feature a 4-inch display, a 1.3GHz CPU, and some version of Android. Since it has the "Pro" moniker I'm guessing that it'll feature a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. BGR is quick to mention that this smartphone could actually hit the market before the end of the year, in November.
There's also word of Motorola working on another Android 2.2 based handset which is similar to the old Motorola Q. This will feature a touchscreen display along with global roaming. Samsung and HTC are reportedly also going to push out their own Android handsets with global roaming. The HTC one might have leaked out over the weekend.
Verizon will be launching a tablet from Samsung and it's said to be 7-inches along with a front-facing camera. This could very well be the Galaxy Tab. Motorola's also going to be releasing a tablet on the carrier but it'll be a bit larger. The tablet from them is expected to sport a 10-inch display along with a 1GHz / 1.3GHz CPU along with a front-facing camera and Android 3.0 "Gingerbread." Sadly, this was supposed to launch this year, December, but apparently it has been delayed until February 2010.
Verizon is reportedly going to have 75% of the country covered with their new LTE (4G) network by April 2012. the carrier will be releasing a Novatel LTE MiFi device in early 2010 (January or February) and it'll support up to 10 simultaneous users. Apparently, the data for the device will cost $59.99 monthly so you might want to save up quite a bit of money.
Update: Techland has just pointed out that Verizon and Google are making an announcement at 1:30PM EST today. It's just about a half hour away!

Moving away from Android devices, Telus is going to be launching a new handset which should be inexpensive. The handset packs a 3-inch touchscreen display with a 240 x 400 resolution, a 3MP camera, Bluetooth 2.1 support, an FM radio, and social networking integration. RIM made the BlackBerry Curve 9300 official this morning as the Curve 3G and it looks like one carrier in the USA has already confirmed that they're going to launch it. That carrier will be T-Mobile. It's "coming soon" but there are no rumoured prices running around right now. The Curve 3G features a 2.4-inch display with a 240 x 320 resolution, a QWERTY keyboard, an optical trackpad, a 2MP camera, a microSD card slot (2GB in the box), GPS, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR / WiFi b/g/n support, and 3G connectivity. Unfortunately, the smartphone itself will be launching with BB OS 5.0 but RIM has announced that this device is BlackBerry 6 ready so you can expect an update in the future.

The same guys who shot the HTC Ace / Desire HD video is back at it again. This time the smartphone caught on video is the HTC Schubert which could be HTC's first Windows Phone 7 handset that will hit the market. Specs are still unknown regarding the Schubert but it's looking like HTC opted to go with a unibody aluminum shell and that's great news - similar to the HTC Legend. Anyways, that's enough blabbing from me so check out the video below.
