Apple's store went down earlier this morning but there's no more need to wonder why. Apple is now taking orders for their new Mac Pro desktop. The cheapest model will cost you $2,499 and that'll get you an Intel quad-core Xeon "Nehalem" 2.8GHz CPU. Next up is the 2.4GHz eight-core "Westmere" Intel CPUs which will cost you $3,499. If you're willing to cough up just about $5,000 you can get 12-cores of Intel Xeon power. Check them all out on Apple's site here.

Sorry Dell, but 192GB of RAM just isn't enough anymore. The fairly slim workstation you see above is from HP and was designed by BMW DesignWorksUSA. I don't know who was in charge of making this workstatation look fairly ugly, but it's not that important. The HP z800 workstation has: "Nehalem quad-core Xeon 5500 processors, two Nvidia Quadro 5800 graphics cards, and room for 196GB of RAM." Yes, it beats out the - already massive - 192GB of RAM that the Dell T7500 workstation has room for. Kudos for being so damn thin for a workstation; it makes the Dell T7500 look massive.

Dell released 3 new workstations recently and I'll save the best for last. I think I should mention that all 3 of the workstations are boasting Intel's Nehalem structure, "an E-SATA port, up to 1.5TB SATA HDD, dual / quad monitor support, DisplayPort connectors", and they're all "Energy Star 5.0 compliant." The cheapest of the 3 workstations is the Precision T3500 which starts at $999 USD and has up to 24GB DDR3 EEC memory (RAM). Next up is the T5500 which starts at $1,620 USD has up to 72GB of memory and also has "dual socket Intel Xeon." I don't know too much about workstations, but I do know that the Precision T7500 is a monster. Starting at $1,800 USD, this thing is packing a huge punch in the face. How does "192GB [12 16GB DIMMs] of three-channel DDR3 ECC memory up to 1066 or 1333MHz" sound? Just when you thought that was enough, this workstation has "dual native Gen 2 PCIe graphics slots" and it even supports Nvidia's SLI technology. Dell didn't release the processor's clock speeds, so that will be announced at a later date. Dell is no beginner to the workstation market as"current estimates give Dell about 40 percent of the market." Take that Apple.

A new iPhone 4G concept picture was revealed to the world. It looks amazing. Very thin and sleek. The specs were not established, so you can just let your imagination come up with anything you want. Everyone looks like they're excited for the new video-conferencing that will be in the new iPhone. Until Apple releases what the next iPhone will look like, we can only create concepts of it. Hopefully, there will be a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, but i don't think Apple will implement that, since they love their touchscreens. I could be wrong though.

Remember Intel's 8-core Xeon processor? Looks like it was announced on Monday at ISSCC. The 8-core, 16-thread Xeon processor is 64-bit and is part of the Nehalem family. I actually don't know much about processors, so if you want to read it, it's right here for you, via Ars Tenchnica.

Looks like Panasonic is really going to push this 3D-business. The company is striving for the output of 3D FHD (3D Full HD) Blu-ray to the world. We saw the 3D displays at CES and it was only a matter of time until one of the companies would try to take full advantage of the technology. Panasonic looks like it will be that company. Panasonic announced the "opening of a new 3D authoring laboratory at its Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory in California." Look out for Blu-ray in 3D FHD at a theater near you. We may even see it on that 380-inch screen that was shown a couple of days ago.

This netbook reminds me of the Vaio P. It's small and, to a certain extent, 'pocketable'. The UMID M1 looks like it will weigh about 0.7 pounds, have a 4.8-inch touchscreen, and a 1.1GHz Atom processor. It will also have up to 1GB of RAM, up to 32GB of SSD, "WiBro[?] / HSDPA / WiMAX / WiFi / Bluetooth, a 1.3 megapixel camera, mini USB 2.0, and an SD/USIM card." It will come pre-installed with Linux, not Windows. Some users purchasing this, probably don't know this. They're going to be surprised and probably going to send it back and complain about it too. Pre-orders for this netbook start on February 13 and will cost around $500 USD. Oh wait, it's only available in Korea. Sorry to break your heart.

Along with the recent announcement of Street Fighter and Resident Evil stuff on Playstation Home, you will be able to dress as a ninja. This outfit will be available on February 12. In addition to the ninja outfits, on February 13 there will be an event called "I Love Ninjas" in the Gamer Lounge on Home. Winners in the event will receive SOCOM and Warhawk vouchers "to celebrate the upcoming spaces." Go Ninjas!

Google, for the 41st day in a row, has released a new service. Google PowerMeter. What will this do? You will be able to track the electricity usage in your home. Google will probably have access to this information, so you're forewarned. So, if you watched the Super Bowl last night and you lived around Tucson, Arizona, you may have seen this happen. Apparently, as Fitzgerald was running in for his 64-yard touchdown, Comcast users were shown a short clip of a porno movie. "The offending video was only broadcast to standard definition viewers." Oh gosh, imagine if they also showed that hardcore action in high-definition. Apparently, this was done "by accident" and Comcast Cable are going to give everyone $10 off their next month's bill. This completely surpassed Janet Jackson's recent boobie-showing at the Super Bowl a couple of years back.

Today, Google announced the release of a new version of Google Earth. I talked about the possibility of Google releasing an Earth version with the option to view the ocean floor (here). Well, the rumour was true. "Among the biggest changes are the inclusion of a detailed 3D ocean floor, the ability to go up to 50 years back in time when looking at a particular location, record a virtual tour of locations, and a 3D rendition of Mars." As you can see, they added an amazing feature of Mars as well as the awesome ocean floor. The download is now available for Mac and Windows PCs so go and check it out.

Yesterday marked the end of Hellgate: London. Hellgate: London was an MMO for the PC and i don't really know much about it. I do know that my friend did boast about this game to me. He actually didn't end up playing it when i told him that it was a pay-to-play kind of game, like World of Warcraft. Anyways, they shut down Hellgate's servers. Game over for Hellgate: London.

E3 will be held from June 2-4 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The booth babes are making their return to E3 and hopefully this year will revive E3. They just released a list of all the exhibitors that will be present at E3. You can check out the list here, via ps3.qj.net. At E3 this year, we should expect to hear about the Nintendo Wii's "secret weapon software" plan that they say will push them past the PS2 as the world's top-selling console.

A new leak has revealed that there will be new Intel chips by the end of March. The quad-core Nehalem-based Xeon chips. These chips are pretty expensive "and tops out at $1,557 [USD] for a 3.2GHz quad-core Xeon W5580, with a 2.93GHz parallel costing $1,349 [USD]." These Nehalem-based Xeon chips are only quad-core and shouldn't be confused with the rumoured eight-core chips that may be announced this upcoming weekend at ISSCC (International Solid-State Circuits Conference). They have done some tests on these chips and they are said to be "roughly twice as fast as higher-clocked current Xeons in synthetic benchmarks."
